Greetings from new member!!!

Is there anybody out there? Just nod if you can read this.
I LOVE Pink Floyd!!! I was only 6 years old in 1973, when Dark
Side was released. My cousin, Brett, (8 years older than I) got
the album & played it when I was in his room. When "Money"
came on, I was instantly addicted!!!!

A couple weeks later, I was with my "Mother" at a
Famous & Barr store (long time ago in St. Louis, Mo.), and I
asked her if she would buy me a record. She said, "O.K." But
when I brought her the "Dark Side of the Moon" LP, she
flipped out and said, "I thought you meant a small record"...
(like a 45...remember those???). Anyway, against her better
judgment, she got it for me. The minute we got home, I
played it on our living room stereo. I'll never forget her re-
action to the song "On the Run"... I overheard her asking
herself, "They call this MUSIC????" I just laughed & thought
"Yes!!! This is GREAT music!!!!" She bought me a picture of
the "Screaming Head" from The Wall many years later.
So, thanks to my cousin, and my mom, I am a true Floydian
at heart, and will always be. Thanks Mom & cousin Brett!!!

It's nice to have another 'slightly older' Floyd fan join these ranks. I was 10 when DSotM came out and have been hooked ever since, too.

Have fun, and don't mind the high levels of sarcasm that flow from some of our minions.

Welcome SCG, I was 13 when Dark side came out and living to too far from St Louis myself. Bet I've been in the same Famous Barr.
