Re: New Generation of Listeners

Actually, I've not got any idea about anything called "Rico Suave".

Sorry.

I tend to like that word: "suave", it goes well with his first name.

Charade, I am surprised you don't remember Rico Suave was the Macarena of 1991. The guy that sang it, who the hell knows his name?, was the 1991 version of Ricky Martin. That song was so annoying, thank God, another one-hit wonder came and replaced it.

Re: New Generation of Listeners

Yes, parents showed be exposing their children to Floyd at a young age. Pink Floyd has great principles and morals displayed in their music and should be viewed by all people of all ages. I think it would be great if more toddler type things were taking some of these songs and using them as influence for the rest of their lives.

Goodbye Cruel World, anyone?

But seriously, that's cool 13 Channels of Shit.

Re: New Generation of Listeners

Actually I think that Dark Side and The Wall, as well as The Final Cut, might be a little heavy for a 5 yr old. I remember talking to my cousin when he was about 11 about Floyd, but really he just thought the music was cool, he never stopped, at least he never admitted to me, and thought about the themes. In other words some things may seem to be an all ages kinda thing, but on a deeper level they truly are for mature audiences. Huck Finn, not music related I know, is a good example of this.

Re: New Generation of Listeners

I think 12 year old kids should be introduced
into Pink floyd Music, Including the wall album, for their musical education, and to see if they like it. However, I think the wall Movie is even too hard for some 14 year old kids...
I still get the creeps from that movie, and I'm on my 20's...

Re: New Generation of Listeners

Yea it's not that "Wholesome".

Early exposure is always good, over exposure never hurts either.

Unless it's film or something.

Re: New Generation of Listeners

If you couldn't tell there Not Now John, I was being sarcastic earlier, about kids and Pink Floyd. Really, I don't think kids should be exposed to Pink Floyd early.

And I first saw The Wall when I was 14 and I got it.
