Re: New Generation of Listeners

Hey, dont be fooled, the floyd can appeal to anyone that has good taste, no matter what age, for example, myself  haha. Im only 15, and ive listened to the floyd since i was 14, and i have all their albums except for 3. I mean they are great musically, lyrically, artistically, well, they are just pretty darn good. thats all i wanted to say

Re: New Generation of Listeners

I'd call myself a new generation of listeners...everything up to the Wall was released before I was alive...but then I've always had odd tastes. You don't find many fans of Debussy in a backwater shit-towne like this

Re: New Generation of Listeners

I'm not saying anybody didn't get the Wall before they were 14 or 12 or whatever, I'm saying some people won't get it till they are a bit more mature and some won't ever get it.

BTW, I didn't get into Floyd, I mean really get into Floyd, until I was 19, one year after their 1994 tour. Missing out on my last chance to see them live, because I was ignorant of the beautiful music they produce.

Re: New Generation of Listeners

I'm with NNJ on this one. Floyd are a demanding band to listen to (or were). I didn't really appreciate them until I was 17.

Re: New Generation of Listeners

I wonder how that person feels who was spit on by Roger. The person who inspired The Wall.

Radiochair, he probably never even thought about it. JUst figured Rog was an a-hole and never gave it a second thought.

Re: New Generation of Listeners

SpikeH,

Just the gentlest of advice/reminders since you said you were new to both this forum and computers:

It is considered rather rude - in computer/internet terms - to use all capital letters as this signifies shouting.

It also makes it more difficult to read, and moreover, more difficult for you as a writer to highlight or emphasise those bits you want us to REALLY notice.

Floyd on!
Byron
