The clips you are seeing is from a new release. It's a doccumentary on the making of DSOTM and the history of PF. I bought mine at Best Buy. To the best of my knowledge there were some clips made to go with the music of DSOTM in the 70's but no feature film release of those clips. I believe it was just Thorgeson and the Hipgnosis team being creative as ususal.

I saw a video of Brain damage and Eclipse on VH1 Classic, but I've seen nothing of feature length movies, as fulghum says.

I've got some good news for you, sunshine;

They just released a 1974 PF film called "Live in Pompeii" this
DVD features the DSOTM film footage you're probably referring to.
If it shows Roger & Dave in the studio while recording "Brain Damage" and "Eclipse". The film also features songs like Echoes,
One of These Days, Careful with that axe, Eugene and Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun. And it has a few minutes of interviews with all the members. Check it out, I'm sure this is what
you're looking for. Even if it's not, it's still a must own for any floydian.

uh, dude (or dudette), all iwas tryin to do was answer your question. I've followed floyd for 30 years and have NEVER heard
of a DSOTM movie. The footage the documentary on DVD used,
and that VH1 used was taken from "pompeii" It SOUNDED to me
like you'd never seen it. But, by all means, if you do find this
mysterious movie, please post it on this thread, so i can see it to.

Sorry, didn't mean to be redundant in my post. I guess I just read over the thread too fast. You did indeed say that you weren't looking for the DVD to which I posted the link. I don't think I've seen the footage to which you are referring. On a side note, I'd like to add that the DVD to which I posted that link is great viewing to hear the guys reflect on how they recorded the album.
