David Gilmour live with Wright

Hello. I just watched the DVD with david gilmour playing live at that festivalthing for the first time this year. And I`ve always been wondering if anyone can hear what Rick Wright plays on his organ/synth thing when he comes on stage and plays that song called "breakthrough"?

Rick`s playing has always been easy to notice, but I honestly can`t hear one single note of what he plays on that song (just stupid Camen`s piano...!)

I think that's an electric piano anyway.

You gotta admit. Electric Piano is an interesting way to look at it.

If you look closely his left hand is doing next to nothing, I'm not too sure his right hand was playing much either- I think he was just focusing on his singing and his song

And here I was, expecting from the thread title to be talking about their bunk bed arrangements.

Re: David Gilmour live with Wright

I was pretty annoyed that you couldn't hear his keys - especially since the keys you could hear were played by Michael Kamen, whose playing I don't care for at all.

Still, it was nice to hear it in a more Floyd context, with Rick singing (instead of Sinead, as good as she was).

I do believe Rick Wright might have been playing a Farfisa Organ, judging by the looks of it.

Re: David Gilmour live with Wright

It's a Rhodes electric piano. He plays chordal backgrounds during the intro and guitar solo, and plinks away here and there during the chorus. It's buried in the mix though, you can hardly hear it at all during "Comfortably Numb."

Re: David Gilmour live with Wright

It's pronounced/spelt "Kamen" but yeah, you're probably Wright!
