Hi Guys, I think I speak for millions, but let me speak for myself. I wish you were here, tearing down the walls that keep you apart. Since the split, the two entities created have stumbled and falled. There are fleeting glimpses, but like the saying goes, "together we stand..." I continue to have high hopes that you will, one of these days, return to the studio. It is sad that you cannot put to practice what you so elequently taught to so many fans around the world, including me. That the pursuit of self to the exclusion of all others is the ultimate depravity that awaits us all if we cannot overcome our compulsion to avoid the pain and humility that comes with discourse with our felow human beings. One might say that the time is gone and there's nothing more to be said, and that might be the case. But like the tolling of the bell, there is a call to hear the familiar. So perhaps a new album is out, but indeed, to hear and see you all again will in itself inspire new found understanding and clearity in ourselves and in our fellows. I implore you to show that YOU understood the music and that it wasn't all in vain. If it was just me and, say, a few others, and I asked this, you might say I was the one being selfish and that the time has passed and let it go. But that it not the case. There are millions of people who, like me have been inspired by your music and wish that it did not end the way it seems to be ending. I continue to buy your CD's and various forms of memorabilia. I show my support for you in the only way I can, other than the effort of writing this letter. I went to see Roger in Providence, RI USA in 2000 and I wish I could catch the rest of you soon as well. I have not been a fan since the begining. I became one with The Wall in 1980. And it is only in the past few years that I have realized the richness of all your works. My favorite album now is Animals, but I love it all, including the early Sid era stuff. Imagine a place where the members of Pink Floyd put aside their individual differences and personal animocities and reunited. They went on a farewell tour and showed the world that they believed and lived their own words. That is place I would like to visit! In listening to both Rogers solo work and the post-Roger-Floyd stuff I hear alot of references to what might have been and a certain sadness that accompanies it. I don't think this is a coincidence. The bad blood has slowed but it has not turned to stone. The echoes of a distant time are still within reach. So what do you say, how 'bout you climb aboard for an American tour. I'm sure you'll make it to the top! Please. An adoring fan, One of the Sons of Nothing

We are all available to follow their Last Concert, also on The Dark Side of the Moon, if they all will be there! Last edited by Vera; 11-16-2003 at 02:44 PM. |

I could have sworn one of the big messages of the ol' Pink Floyd music was that one should not become reliant on someone else, and that one should learn to appreciate life and beauty without the aid of others-- certain without imposing one's views upon said others' lives.

So you mean my open letter to Mike, Peter, Davie, and Mickey should go unpublished?

Honestly, do you really think a letter could end the years of hard feelings and practical jokes that stand between the Monkees?

This is not my intention. Mine was just a simple wish, bacause I hadn't the opportunity to see them in a live-concert, yet.

Maybe my comprehension of the English is still weak, but in the post of SonOfMohg, I saw just a wish that every fan (MAYBE) here has. Last edited by Vera; 12-20-2003 at 02:38 PM.

Kinda selfish to want four people that have been through so much turmoil breaking up and putting the Pink Floyd name to rest just so you can see them live...... I seriously think that there's no chance in this world or any other that the talents of Nick Mason, Richard Wright, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, or even Roger Barrett will join together once again and be shared with the world. We just have to be glad that there are so many albums and ROiOs we still have of the good ol' days.
