Yesterday, I was chatting on ICQ and posting on the forum when I got a phonecall saying that the movie I ordered (More) was in, along with an Oasis DVD. When I bought them, they were the same price unfortunately, but that's beside the point. I went home that night and watched the movie.

This is most definitely the worst movie I own. I can't believe that Pink Floyd would accept to score this movie and not 2001: A Space Odyssey. Oh well. There are a couple things I'd like to say about this movie.

1. The score of the movie (the reason I bought this) is good, for a movie soundtrack. But, the sound quality of the background music isn't all that great in many parts of it. You can hear the music (obviously) much better on the album. Also, I thought that it was interesting that during the opening credits it says that the score was done by: the pink floyd. Note the word the. During this part it says that the music was written by the pink floyd. On the back of the case, it says that the music was by Pink Floyd, and that it was written by David Gilmour and Roger Waters. I understand the name being different, but why would the writers names be different?

Anyways, I also noticed that the video I bought was a rerelease of the movie. Even more intersting, it was rereleased in 2000, so it shouldn't be that difficult to get. It costed me $28.99 Canadian.

As for the movie, it's pretty bad. It isn't the kind of movie you'd watch with your kids (or in my case, your parents). There is nudity galore (It's even on the movie case!). It's basicly about some guy who falls in love with a girl who gets him hooked on drugs, just like my life  . Oh, she also listens to Cymbaline! What a surprise.

I know that the only people that are going to buy this are Pink Floyd fanatics like us. The movie is horrible, but just for the fact that the soundtrack is done by Pink Floyd, I recommend that all diehardcore fans buy this video. But don't expect to actually enjoy the movie, we couldn't have that.

Well, I still would have bought the movie, just for the sake of having a movie with the soundtrack done by Pink Floyd. Oh, what's the name of the movie that Obscured by Clouds is from?

La Vallee, by Barbet Schroeder. It's not exactly groundbreaking.

And Zabriskie point sucks.

It sounds like the only good movie that Pink Floyd has done that they have done soundtracks to is The Wall. And I mean besides concerts, before you all go protesting.

They did a couple of educational films too. Or did we already cover this?

Oh, by the way I wouldn't call the Wall a soundtrack either.

Yeah, I normally wouldn't either. I really want to see those educational films. I forget what they are though.

Yeah, that's one, but I'm pretty sure that Dave did something though.

Just look at the end scene where the house explodes with "Careful..." as soundtrack... I think it's a masterpiece of cinema

Maybe. But without "Careful..." playing against it, it's just a house exploding. And what's the deal with the sex on the beach thing?

Since we're on the topic of More the movie, I personally think the music to More is some Pink Floyd's most adventurous and intense. In fact I think it may be their best album... Now that's just my opinion! The movie: I saw it, and but for a few scenes it really wasn't that good. Which brings me too...
Does anybody out there (natch!) have a copy of one of the songs in the movie that never made it onto the album, a song called "Seabirds". I found a copy online but it's directly from the movie with all the movie sounds intact too messing up the song. Thanks.
