Hi, im new to both the forum and Pink Floyd, G'day!

Just thought Id say hi as this is my first post and all.
Over the last couple of months Ive started to listen to Pink Floyd. Im only 16 and so there a bit before my time, but that doesnt stop me from thinking there the best band ever.
I stole my parents Dark Side of the Moon album and man its great. Great musicians, great production artists and awsome poets. Time and Money are 2 of the greatest songs I have ever heard.
The other day I purchased The Wall, and while not as good as Dark Side, its very good aswell. I think the poetry is better in The Wall, but Dark Side has better music.
Anyway thought Id just say hi, and I hope to contribute to the forums well over time.

Wish You Were Here is required listening for Pink Floyd 101 class. And if you wanna know what inspired it, try to find a copy of Piper at the Gates of Dawn, their 1st album with their original leader. and though it's a solo, Roger Water's Amused to Death has some very powerful songs.

Welcome, lankycheese!

After WYWH, get Animals.

Yes, I suggest after WYWH, you get Animals or Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Personally, I'd go for Piper. That's what I did!

Forget WYWH till later, get Animals, then OBC. No real reason for Piper just yet.

If you liked Dark Side, for my money nothing gets closer to it than Meddle.

May I humbly suggest you ignore all these bozos - except Not Now John, he's brilliant - and get Obscured By Clouds next.

You can always get Meddle, or WYWH or Animals. Everybody likes those, but OBC requires more discerning fanatical Pink Floyd taste.

He's not a good doctor, he's evil. And his name is far from cool.
