Has Pink Floyd's brilliance ever brought tears to your eyes?

When I was about 15 there was this time I listened to Dark side of the moon on my headphones under a park bench, I'd had a few cans and during us & them I felt overcome with emotion and as soon as any colour you like kicked in tears started to roll down my cheeks, I just couldn't handle floyd's sheer brilliance, it was like holding your baby for the first time - has this happened to anyone else listening to the FLOYD?

Re: Has Pink Floyd's brilliance ever brought tears to your eyes?

Not exactly......

But once I was driving west as the sun set behind the distant mountains , listening to DSOTM. "Brain damage" started as I squinted into the final rays of the setting sun. Then, "Eclipse" started after the sun had disappeared. One of the most brilliant sunsets I ever witnessed was spread across the sky as the boys sang MooooooooooOOOooooooOOOOOOoooon.........<thump/thump>.....<thump/thump>.....

I thought, "wow, cool."

Once the sun was in the East, even tho the day was done.

Just as Seamus was playing.

I dropped my CD case for The Division Bell on my bare foot, right on my little toe, and it really hurt.. I almost cried then. Does that count?

I have to admit, 1994 at the concert, I was quite inebriated, when the guitar solo of On the Turning Away cranked up, I shed a tear or two. ...

When Jenny finally tells Forrest she loves him just before she dies of AIDS comes to mind.

I think, maybe, yes. I can't remember. Possibly. 10 years ago, on a comedown, there's a chance. maybe. I dunno.

Re: Has Pink Floyd's brilliance ever brought tears to your eyes?

The ummagumma studio album made me cry once because it was the first time i heard that floyd could be so bad. AMLOR had a similar effect with me.

Re: Has Pink Floyd's brilliance ever brought tears to your eyes?

I felt much the same way with TFC, when I realized it was all downhill from there on.

No tears, though. Maybe a touch of indigestion.
