Re: Pink Floyd The Greatest?

medium:adj 1. midway between extremes, average. (collins dictionary)

In my argument extremes being Awful to excellent in what we think of the taste of water.

mediocre: adj (mee-dee-oak-er) average in quality.

quality: 1. degree of excellence(b.o.a.b's point)2.distinguishable characteristic or attribute(taste) 3. basic character or nature of something(easy going)-adj

A quality wine is an excellent wine.

A wine of average quality is mediocre.

A poor quality wine is a below average one.

I have well and truly s**t on you all. (don't feel too sheepish)
Thanks have a nice day.

You can kick me off now Bride of a bull - that may give you the ultimate power trip.

Yes I can, we all perceive things the same, we both like Money because of it's energy and it's frank lyrics, it's a fun song but neither of us actually find it's general sound melodious. (especially the piercing guitar) Your happiness is something "we" cannot sense, "we" are not telepathic.

You may well drink water with a metallic taste, but then you aren't tasting the water are you? It's the metal in the water which you are tasting. I may well be a simpleton, but these are not lofty ideas you are trying to put forward, and you have failed to convince even this simpleton that your flawed opinion is fact. I, on the other, know who I may "think" is the greatest band but I have the sense to know that this thought is not fact.

I suppose I cant taste the wine for the grape. Water has many characteristics that makes up it's taste and I know you know this, which suggests to me that you take pleasure in trying to bring someone down, this is probably to make you a feel a little powerful, a lot of insecure people do this.
Don't be so presumptuous my facile friend I will prove to you in time Floyd are the greatest.

As I said before, you can use any term you like and mean anything you like by them but if you use a term which IS otherwise universally accepted to mean a certain thing, your arrogant redefinition of meaning holds no...er...water (pure, drinking or otherwise).

Get on, indeed, with your imperious and peurile attempts to convince the generally unconvinced that your opinion is fact. Knock yourself out. Keep trying.

I will, but your insecurities will enevitably lead to me being barred from the forums indefinately because of all the attention I'm getting.

BTW, I think Money sounds superb. In my opinion, it's a very good PF song. Others will disagree, but I care not.
But, remember what I warned you about personal abuse next time you condescend to respond. You won't be warned again.

The productions superb, if thats what you are going on.

I'm not actually a marlins fan, or come to think of it, a baseball fan. (and yes I've seen enough of it Cheese, you facetious foister)

The image is there for a reason and as I'm still seen as a sub-par newbie I am not yet ready to state why.

Your fear of social stigma re: Bach is laughable. People with sufficient self-esteem understand that their tastes in music are, in fact, their own and subjective - and couldn't give a toss about "there credibility/image". If you lack sufficient moral courage to own up to your own tastes in music, I doubt you have sufficient backbone to deal with the real choices life puts before us on a daily basis - and you can be assured the people around you have noticed that, and trust you accordingly.

We all fear ridicule and try to avoid it were we can, unless it's something we are passionate about, in my case Pink Floyd.
Pink Floyd has been a huge burden for me especially when dating were partners (girlfriends Cheese) positively will not listen to my music but I throw caution to the wind and play it anyway usually to constant moans of "thats the kind of sh*t my dad listens to." I just ignore it because I love the Floyd. (if she was really special I might meet her demands) If it were classical i.e. klaus doldinger I'd politely turn it off due to me having a casual intrerest in the genre. (I will admit to liking anything but if the quality of life suffers because of my liking/playing of certain music I will take the appropriate measures) - this is all true of our nature, why denounce it Rob the lad?

[quote]But it isn't really true that you think that, is it? I've read all 78 posts you put up here to date, and it seems that all you really want is attention - and since you don't actually have anything new or interesting to say, the only easy way to get it is by antagonizing other users and making puerile blanket statements you then defend by accusing your detractors of stupidity. Here's a hot tip for you - the psychiatrists have a name for that. I suggest you look it up, as it's a defect worthy of therapy.[/qoute]

You could'nt tell I was after attention after 25 posts? Well it's seems there must have been something a little interesting for you to carry on reading the rest. Psychiatrists would consider repeat posts like yours clang association. (Am I in your head Rob the lad, is one of your eyes slightly lower than the other?) Ridicule is the only language these prima donnas' seem to understand.

I could go on with my analysis of your little endeavor in trolling here, but I think I've given you an overload of things to consider, matthew. I'll just put you on 'Ignore' now and go on with my interesting life and relationships, and leave you to your flickering screen, bottle of lubricant, and roll of paper towels.

Psychoanalysis on an amateur level, how interesting, this tells me vast amounts of imformation about your character. Lets start at the beggining, you perceive life as pretty shitty and you have become at loss with the outside world this as led you to become considerably introverted, thus explaining your disproval of my resolute extroverted views. (If you want to play head games Rob the lad I suggest you do it with someone who babbles on about Klondike bars.)

But surely, by your original argument, if you play it to them long enough they would come to love it passionately! Unless your arguments are complete bollocks of course.

Great point!!!!!

Yes they would come to love it, period.

It's just they have predudices which make them arbitarily not like the music at first, for a variety of reasons.

It's like Andy Williams, when my mum first played him to me I said Get that off it's horrid. mainy because of the imagery of black and white films the sound gave me and the association the music had with old folk, but after time (hearing it in the kitchen etc) I started to like the majority of his songs - exposure!

I've had girls who have got to the point we're they are practically screaming "put comfortably numb on again!!!!" and they're all singing along to it, same with Another , this is mainly because the song's grown on them. Still if a fit lad walked by they shout quick turn it off, and thats my self-image point.

I could never get anyone to like the sound of Seamus though. (perhaps if the dog reminded them of their old dog maybe)

Assuming you extend the definition of argument to include "unsupported statements you don't agree with because you're stupid". This is abuse, arguments are down the hall.

Me, I want to hear more about the "were partners" - I wonder what they are when the moon isn't full?
