| Re: Pink Floyd The Greatest? It's an average taste. But no one likes it. It's like fire. No one likes the taste of fire, but if you bottled the sounds of a whale then even babies would stand up and agree.

| Re: Pink Floyd The Greatest?
Originally posted by Bride of a Bull
Okay, for the very last time in this thread (say, post what you like hereafter, mattgill, for insofar as I am concerned, you will be talking to yourself, playing with yourself)...[/qoute] No, you'll definitely still follow me around reading my posts, replying to them. (writing to myself?) Last bits true though. Quote:
Percieve? I do not understand this word, can you elaborate. I bet my house you respond to this post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There was a science experiment were a 100 babies were fed bannana's and custard, they all enjoyed it, i.e. licked the plate, ish. Then they were all given a basic wheat mixture regarded as unpleasant in taste (by scientists) and every baby refused it. We all sense things the same way it's only our experiences that make our responses differ. Quote:
Why do you find it superb/melodious? Gilmours guitar 'is' technically excellent, but it's structure has been designed to grate intentionally, i.e it's a representation in sound to how money can make one feel, frenetic to despair, an energetic anger/joy. It's a great effect solo, Gilmour knows how to portray an emotion. (he's not a thrasher!)- seven/four time anyone? Quote:
If you tasted sea water, I think it's safe to say you'd not enjoy it. Nature decides for us and some people understand nature better than others (it's fundamentally about poison and prevention, the freudian floydians out there will understand.) - glass of freshly squeezed lemon juice with methylated spirits anyone? Regarding senses Bride of the Friesian I can state as a fact you would not like the smell of ethyl mercaptan (C2H5SH) Quote:
Virulent verbiage, explicitly extraneous, and to a lot of self aware people using the forum laborious. There's a lot of people who private message me who agree with my views but will not go on record stating so (fear of ridicule point) they all feel your posts have taken excessive amounts of time in preperation. This comes across quite evidently you facile F**K! Masticate over my points please.
And finally, if you are banned from this site you can be sure that it will not be by my hand. I shall just inform others with that duty of your misconduct here and hope they take the appropriate action. This highlights another flaw in your reasoning to assume that I would be the person banning you when a blind meercat could see that my banning you would have seemed an abuse of Mod power.[/qoute] I wont be banned because I had a little spice to the forums 'sub-par'or not. Obviously you won't ban me now as I 've made it quite clear why you may do so. Quote:
Do your dirty work. Quote:
Bride of a Bull I don't think your a simpleton at all, in fact I respect your views, I've read some of your posts and they seem positively interesting and insightful, you have given me one hell of a challenge - Thanks... M.G. Quote:

this comment is very true. Isn't it good to be lost in the woods isn't it bad so quiet there, in the woods. one person's good can be another persons bad. but it depends on what angle you are stating it from. If you want to get lost for fun - it's good If your trying to get home and your lost thats bad. Last edited by matthew gill : 12-08-2003 at 12:47 PM. |

| Re: Pink Floyd The Greatest? Well, matthew, in the interest of an absolute standard of fairness I will try to explain once more what is happening here to you. You have posted broad statements which people have disagreed with. You have then insulted anyone who disagrees with you, attempted to portray yourself as a victim, and betrayed the fact that you possess something less than a high school education. Me, I'm a 42 year old engineer who runs a consulting business - a great deal of my time is spent performing investigation and analysis, then writing conclusive reports and recommendations for which I am then held responsible. In my professional life I tend to to check my facts and I am careful not to expound on subjects of which I am ignorant. And when I make a mistake, I correct it post-haste, as the consequences magnify with time. I don't, in fact, give a damn about other people's spelling and grammar. But when someone claims to be be authoritative on a subject the name of which they can't properly spell or use in a sentence, I can be pretty sure their "points" are worthless - and you have done precisely that here. For instance - water does not have a taste. The impurities in water may impart a taste. FACT, as you are fond of saying - and the concept of 'average' is irrelevant except in some bulls**t Madison Avenue advertising context. I think we all know what you are trying to say - some of us simply don't agree with you, and you have repeatedly demonstrated your lack of qualification to express an opinion, so why are you surprised? BTW, I'm not being elitist here - I have learned things here from people far younger than I, simply because their perspective and experiences are different from mine - it's just that they don't claim expertise they don't possess, as you do. When you continue to belabor your point, and call people who have far more experience and education than you have stupid, why are you surprised when the response escalates? Byron, for instance, received more votes than any other candidate for moderator in the last two elections - and all it takes to have another election is for Paulo to receive ten complaints about him. Have your PM friends pass on their complaints, and perhaps you'll get the change you want. I sincerely doubt you can swing it - but Byron would love it if you could. You wouldn't know any of that, as you are far too interested in imposing your views on others than in finding out what is going on and what has happened before. Matthew, it's reached the point where you are something like finding a wino passed out in the lobby of your office - interesting enough to talk about, but not interesting enough to talk to. Personally, I'll be happy if you just drop your abusive attitude and move on to other things - I suspect that others would be just as happy to move on, as we all have more interesting things to do than mock your specious claims. You may, in fact, have something to contribute here, your current performance notwithstanding - but I suspect we'll just be seeing more of your garbage. That's fine, BTW - I see guys like you come and go all the time, and there's always the 'Ignore' feature. |
