Talking Newbie w/ question concerning band

I would first like to say...I LOVE PINK FLOYD!!!!! Rock on Baby!!
Second: I have many cd's not as many as I would like but enough to be called a fan. I have noticed on most of my cd's that the pictures may sometimes have a silhouette of a pig or something of the sort. What does that pig mean? and the hammers? Does anyone know? And also, How many cd's were made while sid was still in...and can I have the names to those...(so I can put it on my x-mas and checklist)

thanx!!!

In response to the Syd question: The Floyd made 1 full cd with him: Piper at the Gates of Dawn. The next album, A Saucerful of Secrets had one of Syd's songs on it, the last one, which was entitled Jugband Blues ( an excellent song in my opinion). Their are also a few of Syd's Floyd singles and bootlegs floating around such as See Emily Play, Arnold Layne, Vegetable Man, Scream thy last scream, Apples and Oranges, and many others.

The Pig is a direct reference to the song Pigs (Three Different Ones) from the Animals lp. I haven't noticed any silhouttes of a pig on their albums except for the Animals pig.

The Hammers is a symbol from the Wall. It can be taken two ways, the first that the hammers built the wall, or that the hammers tore down the wall.

On one of my cd's I can't remember which one it is, but there is a snow bank on a hill in a shape of a pig. Then on The Wall Live they have a floating pig with hammers on the side of it, that they used for their concert. I was just wondering if it had a deeper meaning to them than just swine....I never heard the song Animals, but I will be sure to make that the next cd I buy.

The other pig shaped image you are seeing is on "Echoes" which is a "best of" compilation.
