| Guitar color? Someone knows the specific color on Dave's red strat (name on color, color number..)? I cant seem to find it anywhere....

| Re: Guitar color? I think it is what Fender calls "Candy Apple Red". Here are some more specifics: 1984 Fender Strat '57 reissue. Candy Apple Red w/ white pickguard Shortened tremelo arm maple fretboard EMG SA pickups, (active) EMG EXG expander (bass and treble boost)

| Re: Guitar color? "Active" PU's have their own power source (batteries) which kills the natural 60 cycle hum of the single coil pickups.

| Re: Guitar color? Do you know why some fender's have the pickup near the bridge a little bit inclined? Is it just style or it has to be with the sound.

| Re: Guitar color? I think Leo just thought it sounded better that way. A reason might be that with the larger diameter strings, you have to get the pickup pole further away from the "zero" point (bridge) in order to get it into the area where string vibration can be sensed. That's just a wag, however.

| Re: Guitar color? I always thought it was because the tone would sound better at the back if it were turned that way. The pickup poles could pick up more bass from the low strings, and more treble from the higher ones... perhaps giving it an unique tone. |
