Thumbs up Let There Be More Light

great lyrics, they make me think

what do you get out of it?

i found these on google

"Mildenhall" refers to RAF Mildenhall, a British Royal Air Force base. "Hereward the Wake" was a British folk hero who is supposedly the last of the English to hold out against the invading Normans. The "Rhull" may be a reference to a science-fiction book by A.E. Van Voght titled The War Against the Rull, but this one is a bit uncertain.

"What are all those names in 'Let There Be More Light?'"

The lyrics to "Let There Be More Light" are influenced by various Science Fiction books and historic persons:

Mildenhall
a UK air force base

Hereward the Wake
An Anglo-Saxon rebel leader, known as "the last Englishman". Fought against the Norman oppressors, and hid on Ely island (where Ely cathedral, from the cover of TDB is now located.

Carter's father
Edgar Rice Burroughs (creator of Tarzan) wrote a series of novels about John Carter of mars.

The Rhull
A.E.Van Voght wrote a book called "The War against the Rull." The Rull should not be confused with the "Krull" from the silver age Fantastic Four (a Marvel comic book series) stories.

Anyway, my interpretation is a lsd psycic trance of a future or another demension and a connection to another energy form.

...So i got out my "Shine On" book to look at the "Saucerful of Secrets" section, while listening to the album and investigating the lyrics. What do i experience but a connection. The next cd I had randomly put in was "Rumors" and what do I see when that happened? ... The concert poster above the "Let There Be More Light" lyrics says Fleetwood Mac.

I have often been to RAF Mildenhall...but not lately.

If contact has been made with the human race in the last 30-odd years, it's been of the American (whatever that is) race of humans. Go figure.
