Re: Floyd/A. C. Clarke connection

We are all of aware of the "possible" Floyd/Kubrick connection (ie: 2001 & Echoes, Amused to Death w/ Kubrick references) but it would seem that Arthur C. Clarke's novels are referenced outside of the 2001 movie. Having read portions of the odyssey books there seems to be overlap in themes (beyond just outer space). Anyway, "Childhood's End" , which I have not read, is both a Clarke book and, uh I'm sure no one knew thies, a Pink Floyd song. What I was wondering is if anyone has an in depth knowledge of Clarke's many books and if they are influential on some of the themes. I know this is random and trivial but I find this stuff interesting.

I dont have any of Clarke's books, but I can tell you this; I DO believe in the whole 2001/Echoes bit, and most of the other synch's available a particular site, and one of those synchs is with A Clockwork Orange (also a Kubrick film) and the album 'Obscured By Clouds,' the same album that includes a song called "Childhood's End." That just seems a little weird to me, but check it out for yourself and enjoy. Its not one of my favorite synchs because its a little shady in alot of parts, but the first song/scene is a definate. I shouldnt have even brought this up on here, Im going to get a serious flame now for mentioning that I believe in synchs...

(something along the lines of "damn stupid hippy bullcrap democrat and your stoner garbage, synchs dont work and you know it!" is expected......Cheese?)

oh good luck on your question anyway Albatross, someone on here might know something.

So, there might be other people interested in the subject, you know. Rudeness won't get you far.

Re: Floyd/A. C. Clarke connection

For one thing, his rude sentences make more sense than that one.

Re: Floyd/A. C. Clarke connection

One should never end a sentence with a preposition.
