A Concert for George

I just bought and watched "A Concert for George" , the George Harrison tribute concert.

It's simply amazing, words will not do it justice.

I was moved to tears more than once.

If you have not seen it yet, get it.

There is one scene wherein Ringo is singing "Photograph", and Clapton is just over his shoulder, it looks as though Clapton is on the verge of tears himself.

Put it on your christmas list..

Re: A Concert for George

Coincidentally, that concert was on telly here, Friday night. I enjoyed it all but thought his son misplaced on stage with the others.

I almost wept another tear for my favourite Beatle.

I'll See You in my Dreams was a Louis Armstrong classic from the 40's. It was a favorite of George's to play on the ukelele. He and Joe Brown would always play that song to finish off their set's when they played together. Consequently, it was a very fitting tribute from Joe and a wonderful way to finish off the concert.

His son looks just like him....at first I thought the guitarist was some wannabe...I felt embarrased for him.....until they interviewed him....and I realised.

And boy can Clapton play.

No shite Sherlock.....

There is very little doubt in my mind that Clapton was the original guitarist on While My Guitar Gently Weeps....

Re: A Concert for George

I loved Dhani, I think it was an amazing image. Him up there with his father's friends. I loved how Olivia was like "it's like george stayed young and the rest of us got old"

The Indian part of the concert was spine tingling... and 10 thumbs up for Claptons "While my guitar gently weeps"

beautiful

cheers
