Okay, first off, marijuana isn't only found in the "Dark Underworld", but it is a commonplace now days. It's not such a bad thing, as long as you can be a responsible smoker. Alcohol is much worse---->it has led to more deaths than pot; more violence than pot; and more broken families than pot; but yet marijuana is treated as if it a product of Satan, when it really shouldn't be. Watch, my prediction is that in 20 years, there are going to be some major changes in how the U.S. Government views marijuana, if not, I'm moving to AMSTERDAM.

Anyway, I like Comfortably Numb, it is a great song with an awsome guitar solo.

ok....Im a new member and I just have a few questions. Well im only 15 but i REALLY love pink Floyd's music! Everyone that I talk to (including my mom) tells me that Pink Floyd was heavily into drugs and that most of the song lyrics are drug related. I dont know if thats true or not though because some of these posts i have read gives the impression that Pink Floyd wasnt into drugs at all. My mom thinks that i am doing drugs or something just because I listen to Pink Floyd. So I just wanted to know the facts!
I would also like to know what the meaning of Comfortabley Numb is, and if it has to do w/drugs.

Well, the people who say Pink Floyd is a druggie band are quite ignorant (no offence to your mother). Just because stoners listened to Pink Floyd doesn't mean they were druggies, or that their songs about drugs. Early Floyd, with Barrett, was a little more on the psychadelic drug side, but it was really because Syd was the front man and he was heavily into Acid.

The Pink Floyd that produced AsoS - TDB was mostly drug free.

Comfortably Numb is a part in the story of the Wall, where Pink is going too crazy to go on stage and he's very weak and can't perform so these doctors are pumping him full of drugs to make him able to perform.

it seems like all of them were on drugs in the early days.....not just by the music though
