Re: Back to the beginning

I have a theory about what "A great day for freedom" is about but as I get very little chance to talk to other fans I am scared of being reidiculed becasue you lot either think it's:-

A) Blindingly Obvious.

Or

B) Just Plain Stupid.

Re: Back to the beginning

David Gilmour says it's about the fall of Communism, with metaphorical applications to the topic of personal relationships (but nothing to do with Roger).

I'd be interested to hear your theory as well.

Re: Back to the beginning

The fall of the Berlin wall to be more precise. It's Dave attempting to write a Roger like song and of course failing.

Thats what I thought apart from one line it seems to make sense..... wow it's so much better talking about these things with people that know what I'm talking about instead of just being just stared at blankly.

Re: HIDDEN MESSAGES!!!!

Hiya Jim, good to have you onboard. There are quite a few references to the 'Empty Spaces' message thing dotted about the site and it may be a good idea to use the 'search' function prior to posting until you're more familiar with the content here. Practically every topic of a Floydian nature that you could possibly think of has been in some way discussed, disected, discarded or, um, done to death so feel free to just have scope about until you get a handle on things.

As for the Roger tour being comparable to the Berlin Wall thing that he did, if it doesn't contain Cyndi Lauper and her hideous Noo Yawky mangling of that education song, that's a big thumbs up to start with, hey?

If you have any questions, feel free to put them out there or contact any of the Moderators (Sydney, myself, Deathtongue, Fulghum, Fairjess, Botley or our oldest member of the site by far, Grandpa Axe Victim) via PM.

Welcome, share and enjoy!

Mark
