Re: Christmas '03..So wad'ja get?

i still lack definition of the nature of relationship between between the White Stripes. Not that it's any of my business.

as it were;

new guitar strap
Darkside of the Moon DVD
Donnie Darko DVD
Jimi Hendrix - Are You Experienced CD
Beatles - Live At BBC CD
The Darkness - Permission to Land CD

money and a whole bunch of other stuff, including a mini fridge. in my household this is the kiss of death, as the eldest sibling is given a refrigerator as a symbolic eviction notice. once you get it, you're expected to move out (or pay rent, I suppose) within the next year.

Like stratters, Fulghum, and a couple of others, I got Live in Pompeii on DVD (pretty damn cool), aswell as DG in Concert on DVD, a new printer, and assorted other bits and pieces.

I was paying my own stuff when I was 13 years old, working roadside garages on motorbikes

Welcome to college laddy, it's great fun for sure Paying rent is just a minor hassle, I assure you

Speaking of Christmas, I think it would be fair to say that one of the best gifts I got, was quite a surprise. I had recently pierced my ear and gotten a funky haircut and all. Not only did my parents come to know of this, they also know that I consume meat on a regular basis (including the horrors of beef) and that I drink alcomohol. Plus, the new girlfriend and all... fair to say I was quite nervous when I got my webcam. If this was home, I would have been shot on the morning after having dug my own grave.

Surprisingly, it was rather quiet. Ofcourse my parents were disappointed and my Father sulked quite a bit. The miracle was my girl. She won them over So I might just perhaps survive when I see them coming summer

I guess THAT was my Christmas gift: A realisation that I have been blessed with the most wonderful parents, am in love with a great person and overall, life isn't so bad at all. Sure could be better (more money couldn't hurt. Maybe a car too ) but then again, it hasn't been this good in quite some time

Re: Christmas '03..So wad'ja get?

I got a 1984 Fender Strat ('57 reissue). Candy apple red.

With a 70's vintage twin reverb amp.

The problem with that game is that I could never find a lifetime long enough to complete it in.

True! one of the drawbacks, you have to a spot in the house that you can leave it set up and in that respect it's a lot like doing a 1500 piece jigsaw, you just can't do it all at once!

Re: Christmas '03..So wad'ja get?

Pfffft! If you cannot complete a game of Risk in one sitting, you're a bunch of lightweights.

Sydney: The world is divided into continents and countries, and each player is alloted an equal number of countries and armies at the start of the game. The attacker from an adjoining country throws up to 3 dice, the defender up to 2. Whomever has the winning (highest) numbers wins the throw and that loser loses at least one army. The attack continues until the attacker has won, or lost (down to one army: the minimum required to hold a country) or passes his turn to the next player.

Alliances, pacts and treaties amongst players may be formed and cancelled throughout the game. The winner is the player left at the end of the game with all countries under his armies.
