Re: New Waters Tour

fixxlevy,

That was unnecessarily cruel to poor old Dave. Hey, the guy's getting on a bit and the high life is beginning to show. Give him a break.

Snowy just manages to play almost exactly like Dave when doing PF songs. Snowy must also be getting on a bit by now as well, so perhaps he DOES resemble Dave's profile more these days.

Floyd harder!

Re: New Waters Tour

One thing I've noticed, though, is that Dave seems to play an awful lot like Dave. Or is it just me?

Re: New Waters Tour

I wasn't trying to be funny. The New Dave (makes me think of the New Coke...heh) plays a hell of a lot like the Old Dave (listen to "Lost for Words" and you'll know what I mean, heh). He just doesn't sing like him.

Psycho, it is a shame you won't venture out into a Roger Waters concert. The group of musicians he has working for him are incredible. At the very least they are real honest to goodness musicians and not pretenders. Really the music was just as enjoyable as anything Dave every laid down on vinyl. Nothing new, but still great.

Agree with you entirely NNJ. Really guys, Roger Waters live is worth seeing. He just has so much stage presence, even without the pyrotechnics and other parafanalia.

I believe his aim was to tour with the same band.

And Roger, if you happen to be reading the forums here, please tour Europe this time !!!

I will travel to see the show but there are plenty of people who want to see him again.

Re: New Waters Tour

Hey, after just hearing "In the Flesh", I'd love to find a RW concert somewhere near here...Toronto, Montreal sound likely, anyone know of anything coming up?

Re: New Waters Tour

He did the US for the last 2 years, so I doubt he's coming back to North America for awhile. Right now, I believe he's gonna due Australia, South Africa, and maybe Europe.

He purposely chose small venues, so it would be more intimate, which I appreciate, but I get the feeling some other fans didn't. In Hershey, the highway was lined with "NEED TICKETS" signs.

Re: New Waters Tour

Not sure there's anyone from Japan here, but I did read a rumour that he was performing there.

Deciding on a venue must be a tricky issue for Roger. He wont do stadium shows (which is good !) but needs to find somewhere large enough to accommodate those who want to see him.

Re: New Waters Tour

It's nice to see someone who *could* fill a stadium play smaller venues to be closer to his fans, but there must be a lot of pissed-off people who want to stand in a crowd of 50,000 just to hear Rog play Brain Damage or whatever the one Floyd song they heard on the radio is...

Re: New Waters Tour

Psycho, you're right.

Pink Floyd is Pink Floyd, with or without Mr. Waters. People don't make Roger a GOD. Pink Floyd from today plays different as Pink Floyd in the past, that's normal. You can't play more than 35 years the same old songs. Look at the Rolling Stones. Are they making the same kind of songs as in the 60's and 70's? No!

Re: New Waters Tour

OK, that's your view. But don't dis Roger's contribution to the band and certainly don't under estimate the awesome power of his live performance.

Cheers

Re: New Waters Tour

I've not seen anything about dates yet but they must exist albeit in draft.

I used to get a lot of info from www.myrogerwaters.com (sorry, shouldn't admit to that here) but I can't seem to access the site anymore. As a complete technophobe, if anyone can explain if I'm doing something wrong, I'd appreciate it.

Surely the official web site must be updated soon !!!

My concern is that as Roger will be playing smaller venues, tickets will be hard to get.
Does anyone know how to contact Roger's office or managment ?

"Who needs information ?"
WE DO !!!
