favorite 80's song(s)

ok, i know lots of you can't stand 80's music. i know some of you don't even call it 'music'. it's ok with me, everyone has its own taste. but for those who thinks there was good stuff in the 80's, what is your favorite song.

rio - duran duran
ball of confusion - love and rockets
dr. mabuse - p machinery
welcome to the pleasure dome - frankie goes...
steppin' out - joe jackson
he knows you know - marillion

Reward - Teardrop Explodes
Everything by the Bunnymen of course (who were obviously the best band around in the '80's)
And some others that I can't be arsed to dredge up from the deepest recesses of the past.

Their first album was ok, I've still got it knocking about somewhere, but it was downhill from there on in. I want my MTV indeed!

Well, my favorites are "Love Over Gold", "Brothers in Arms", and the first one... I was turned on to the soundtrack from "The Princess Bride" by a member here, albeit many years ago. I don't own "Money For Nothing"... Everybody has a bad day, once in awhile.

I think Knopfler is an impressive guitarist.

Thanks for mentioning REM, I was having trouble thinking of any 80s music I liked, but I do like most of their stuff. And The Cure did made some decent music also - Disintegration is one of my favorite albums.

A band called Pink Floyd released a couple of albums in the 80s also that, while not their best, weren't too bad.
