| wall theory I was watching the wall and i thought this up. If you listen to the clip just before comfortably numb it talks about a special force to kidnap hitler. If you take into account pinks weakened state and consider that the roadies basically "kidnap" him and take him to the show, it all makes sense. To him the movie dambusters became a reality and his weakened state makes him think that he is indeed hitler. Just wondering what people think of this. |

| Re: wall theory quite observant there....i just now realize the connection... but i think he went "hitler" because of the drugs and the "need for power" he wants... just my theory..... Vince |

| Re: wall theory could have just been that he realized that his fans would do whatever he wanted. not unlike the children in the school with the faceless figures. i think thats the connection there. |

| Re: wall theory I think, also, he tried to respond to internal frustrations by wanting to dominate and control his external world, keeping it at a distance from his real, confused self by a projected loathing for weakness (when he was in fact weak)--by barriers of anger.

| Re: wall theory What Behemoth said, you mean? Most likely, Mr. Waters picked out the Dambusters clip as a side note, so to speak, the same way he picked out Hopalong Cassidy to accompany Radio KAOS. The symbolism is clear, but I think it came after the idea of Pink turning into a Nazi.

| Re: wall theory That's interesting FloydWright but I'd be curious to know WHY you think that.

| Re: wall theory The reason I don't think Pink went delusional simply because of that movie is, the stage was clearly set for him well in advance, the crowd already knew the slogans, and even indications in the album show it came on slowly...the first reference to the Worms is all the way back in "Hey You".

| Re: wall theory That's OK. But it DOES fit well, and I have no reason to think the producers didn't create an intentional juxtaposition. It does fit.

| Re: wall theory Interesting theory, Behemoth and FloydWright. I never noticed any connection from that clip before Comfy Numb and the song. To be honest, I never could hear those clips clearly, even when I modified the tone, so no wonder I didn't see that link. I have to say though, I do feel that way sometimes, that is, lacking in external control and creating barriers. Its not a nice feeling to have. thats probably why I sympathise a lot with the album. | Re: wall theory The movie, for me at least, has always been a metaphor for what is going on in Pink's life. It is about WWII his dad died in WWII, etc. In other words, I agree with FWr.
