Re: How did other bands view PF ?

I heard that a solo act and his backing bad thinks the current lineup of PF sucks and they should disband and not use the name Pink Floyd anymore..

Now lessee.. what was his name??? Waters I think..

Re: How did other bands view PF ?

David Bowie said PF were dead after Syd left, someone else called them boring and bloated. Others love them.

I know that Johnny Rotten used to wear an "I hate Pink Floyd" t-shirt on stage on occasion.

Re: How did other bands view PF ?

Well, there is the whole Syd Vicious story of how he got hired, which has been mentioned on this site more than once.

Re: How did other bands view PF ?

The story of how Johnny Rotten got into the Sex Pistols is quite well-worn: he was wearing a PF shirt, which he tore up and added 'I HATE' over the logo. Malcolm McLaren noticed him on more than one occasion, and he grabbed Johnny just as he was walking out of McLaren's shop (Sex). He made him lip-synch to Jonathan Richman's 'Roadrunner' on the Sex jukebox, and the rest is history.
