Songs that've been so deep they've made you cry...

No, this isn't like "has PF's brilliance ever brought tears to your eyes."

I want to know if there are any songs that've really touched you...I mean, have made you think of something, or really spoken to you. Here's what I mean (here are the songs that've brought tears to my eyes):

REM-The Wrong Child...this song is personal to me, because it is about a disabled child who doesn't have friends (my brother is 8 and is often alienated because he is deaf).

more recently:

PF- High Hopes...there recently was an incident with my father, where our relation has turned to be almost non-exsistant...

REM- Everybody Hurts...for the same reason as High Hopes, I've really been in a painful place...this song really speakes to me.

so what songs do that for you?

when I was younger and my dad took my dog to the pound (due to the terrible abuse he recieved before we got him. He had buckshot wounds on his back, sores on his feet, and he was going blind, he probably would've died soon but I loved him nonetheless) Just about every slow/sad song i heard made me cry for about a year.

'Tis done that to me as well. rather depressing that.

There have been songs by Dire Straits (You And Your Friend from the album On The Night), which comes rather quickly to my mind.

When I saw the video to "The World I Know" by Collective Soul:
Sick of the world and it's everlasting rat-race, a black suit & tie businessman is standing on the rooftop of a tall building watching the people below walk up & down the sidewalk while he is contemplating jumping off and ending it all - preparing himself for the plunge he stretches his arms up and out, poised like a diver his knees bend to kick off a recoil that will put him in the cement below - but before he's pushes off, a white dove lands in the hand of one of his stretched out arms - Which diverts him from his suicide.

Lyrics:
Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all the kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.
I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don't know why.

Are we listening
To hymns of offering?
Have we eyes to see
That love is gathering?
All the words that I've been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding
Into one.

So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
As the tears roll down.
'Cause it's the world I know.
It's the world I know.

A song that touched me and rang true to home,Ijust learned the bass line for it too.

Faster Pussycat- House Of Pain

This is so true in so many lives of so many children all over the world, they are the ones who suffer the most.

More of a man or woman can admit tae something like this, than a sleekit, couran, bairn that would pretend tae be tough and deny it.
