| I'm back Well, sort of... Not fully back anyway. I don't know if any remember me or not, but hello nontheless. The reason why I had to leave in the first place was due to the fact that I was accepted into Ryerson University and had to move out (computer was left to my little brother). With a new computer and a bit of time on my hands, I decided to visit this place. I'm a bit saddened to see that the situation did not improve. I miss the days of discussing Floyd (though i rarely did so myself), but Gerald's posts bring back the memories. And by the by, This Tbone character reminds me of a certain poop-obsessed someone, but I could be wrong. Well, since this is in the Music Related Babbling, I should make my stay useful. Recently I've attended a concert by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra here. Played were peices by Vivaldi, Mozart, Bach, and to the surprise of everyone, an overture to Semiramide of Rossini. I just wanted to know if anyone here enjoys classical music, whether in depth, or as a way of relaxing. |

| Re: I'm back Hey you! I remember ya! Good ta see ya again I enjoyed the entire "Niebelungen" performance of Wagner. But the guys I rate most (or whom I listen to mostly) are: Wagner, Mozart, Bach, Strauss, Listz and Beethoven. Ocassionally a Vivaldi or Prokofiev might pop up

| Re: I'm back Welcome Back P@G, good to see you again. I was always fond of the Brandenberg Concertos and JSB in general. Wagners Ring I have always enjoyed as well. I am not so well versed in classical but I do enjoy it from time to time.. Educate us a bit more, I'd like to expand my choices..

| Re: I'm back Glad to be back. Well, Wagner's peices were a bit later and were mainly a "pop" type of classical, with catchy melodies and memorable tunes. Hall of the Mountain King, Ride of the Valkiries, O Fortuna, all famous. I myself greatly enjoy Vivaldi's works, especially his 4 seasons. He was mainly concerned with 4 violin cencerto's and favoured strings in general. Bach, who was actually influenced by the works of Vivaldi, is a bit heaver, but still pleasing to the ear. Then for anyone who wants the hard stuff, theres Beethoveen (Just have a listen to Kubrik's ACO). And of course theres Mozart. Having been greatly influenced by Haydn's works in his early life, his works are less agressive than Beethoven's, but still have a hint of violence. Thats all the info for now, dinner's ready. |
