| Concept albums? (and your favs?) Just wanted to see what concept albums you guys know of and like (don't include PF albums...those are givens). Just wondering, because PF really introduced me to the whole concept album thing, and since I've really enjoyed everyone I've found/listened to. So let me know what you have, and what you'd recommend. Here are the concept albums I own and love (not including PF): "Thick as a Brick"-Jethro Tull "I, Robot"-Alan Parson's Project "Sgt. Pepper's"-Beatles "Ziggy Stardust"-David Bowie "The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway"-Genesis "Fables of the Reconstruction"-REM (a loose concept album about the South) and then I'm going to be getting both "Tommy" and "Quadrophenia" soon...

| Re: Concept albums? (and your favs?) as much as I hate to admit it, Sgt. Pepper's was a half-assed attempt at a concept album. Lennon even said so. But; Who's Next (i.e., Would be "Lifehouse" material) - The Who OVO - Peter Gabriel (somebody just buy it already)

Who's Next isnt a concept album! or is it? If you'd explain how it is, I'd appreciate it... and as for OVO...that needs to get on my "need to get" list. I recently got "Us"...good good album. I'll need to look into getting OVO...

| Re: Concept albums? (and your favs?) Pete Townshend originally intended to follow up Tommy with another concept album named Lifehouse. The project fell through and Pete had a nervous breakdown. Tracks that were part of Lifehouse resulted in the album Who's Next. Thus, why I listed it. So, had Lifehouse been completed (though I guess it has been released in various forms), it would have been one of my favs based on the material from Who's Next. Sorry for the confusion.

| Re: Concept albums? (and your favs?) Well you learn something new everyday! Thanks for the info...being fairly new to The Who, I don't know that much about them.

I really like Sgt Pepper's, I think it's an excellent album of excellent songs but I cannot figure out any concept behind it, granted.

Ole Petey has released "The Lifehouse Concert" on DVD. It is the performance of Lifehouse as he had originally envisioned it. Highly reccomended, excellent show, look for it.

| Re: Concept albums? (and your favs?) Aye. There's also a bunch of Lifehouse project mixes floating about out there. Thus my citing of it being "released in various forms." Sgt. Pepper's is an excellent album, to me, The Beatles' second best to Abbey Road. But, as I mentioned before, it was stated that they pretty much started off with a concept and then wandered in all sorts of different directions. Aside from the first two tracks and the second to last, there is no cohesion.

| Re: Concept albums? (and your favs?) My favourite concept album is definitely Animals, followed by DSotM. Non-Floyd I would have to say The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars.
