Ahh, so now it all becomes clear. Everclear, even.

Wow. This may be the greatest thread in this site's history.

I just re-read my story(page 8) and it brought back a lot of memories. I also noticed how much better a poster I was back then....not to mention it's when I was a mod.

Happy days indeed.

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Just a sudden flashback I had while talking to a complete moron on the phone today (leaving me plenty of time for irrelevant thoughts)...

Today's the 27th anniversary of the day I ran into you at Chanute, old man. Cheers, there's a gift in the mail.

Now, if I could only remember the actual date you arranged the epic battle this thread is named after...

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Happy Anniversary, me old pal. Are you sure you just didn't encounter yours truly at his usual spot: attached to the C&W pinball machine in the dorm basement "day room"?

Those were the days, Rod asking everyone if they thought he was sexy, the Commodores doing their Sesame Street multiplication thing with "Once, twice, three times a lady" and the advent of the Automatic Teller Machine; a very bad idea at the time. Also had life's worst run-in - he went for the jugular - with the world's hugest grasshopper; any accumulated street cred up to that point irretrievable lost after that episode.

Oh, the corn-fueled hazy glow of a Rantoul sunset. Thanks for the memories.

Actually, you were making an ass out of yourself in front of the squadron barracks... Until I got there, and you enlightened me about PITTs, PINGs, and mercilessly mocked my AFR 35-10 shaven head.

I could have killed you.

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

NOW, I remember! That was a GOOD day, made all the better for having met you, Rob, you git. (erp... )

I didn't like the Tornado Watch gag one bit, but razzing the newbies was a tradition I shamefully now admit I rather indulged just a bit. All in good sporting fun, of course.

p.s. mille grazie to wifey for the gifts arrived today. I got some of my lost street red back now, methinks. What, a Hog AND Raybans; why not? Loads of moist tongue-y kisses.

Any time, old man. Hope she likes the new, improved, cheesier-than-ever macaroni.

Yeah, I feel the same way. No accounting for taste, I suppose.

Apparently, having just got off the phone with Miss Vozz, Iced Oatmeal Cookies are now at the top of the wish list. I don't know what she's on about, frankly.

She conveys immense gratitude for Krafty gift and waves.

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Have you ever got the feeling that the two people standing in front of a large crowd were talking about something that no one else had the foggiest idea of what it was about?
