Ha, I never got past Private First Class. 3 years of being an E2 basically. Although I did enjoy a stint as an E3. I really couldn't care less.

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

I will humbly and patiently await Monty Syracuse's edifying essay or short story of Pink Floyd "TRUTH AND RELEVANCE" and will try my best to resist the childish urge to trash it out of course.

Over to you, Monty. (BTW, you CAN start your own Essay thread so as not to sully your efforts with my feeble work.)

Exactly. If you're not a 'cyber-dork', Monty, then why the hell are you posting here?

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Just in case you missed my post on another thread, I just found out that Monty Siracuse was actually A Talking Head, using a new ISP since I had banned his old IP address. He has been banned already.

I also want to ask your help... If you ever come across posts that seem offensive or seems like the user might create problems for our community, please use the "Report post to moderator" link below every post. I'll take action ASAP. Thanks a lot!

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Good one Paulo. It was all I could do to keep myself from flaming him in a most undignified manner.

Anyway, I now browse the threads with my mouse pointer always hovering above the Report this post to a moderator link...just in case.

Thumbs up Cool Story

er,,,stories.

I did a search, and was directed to this thread, and must say, was not disappointed.

A quick synapsis: 1) Listening/ gel-tabbin' to Floyd, feeding rat to snake story... 2) a couple of "shaggin'" while listening to Floyd stories, while ex-wife serves coffee...3) a story about listening to Floyd, drinking Vodka
and having really good vibes...and 4) a trippin'/watching "The Wall" in a barracks with glow sticks and someone who couldn't quite handle it story. Did I leave anything out?

Anyhow,...I hope I'm not clogging up your thread, but (without incriminating myself too much), was wanting to ask a question. A few years back, one of my ex-girlfriends told me "...Never watch "The Wall" while on acid." Obviously, I didn't tell her everything I did back then, but her statement really didn't make any sense to me, and (since the subject had been mentioned here) was just wondering...WHY NOT???

Thanks, in advance...

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Hmmm...I cannot be totally sure, personally, since the rough, darker rides have always appealed to me, but perhaps because THE WALL is a rather depressing and cynical view of the world through "Pink's" eyes and many elements of the movie are graphically disturbing enough to cause the weaker, more sensitive mind to experience a BAD trip.

Do you think she considered yours to be a weaker, or more sensitive mind, or was hers such and had she a not very good trip?

Whatever the case, I'd advise against taking LSD just for the sake of seeing THE WALL film to see if your head explodes.

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Maybe she was inferring that there are much more interesting things to do than watching a brutally crap filmic interpretation of a brutally crap concept LP, when you're tripping. I'd rather go and find the people in the walls or look at chrome trees in the back garden or whatever, than Bob Geldof covered in flour and paste.

Wouldn't you?

Re: DSOTM x 8 - Dinner Bites Diner!

Hey, I like The Wall, so sue me.

It wouldn't be my choice of film to watch while tripping, if ever I do that again. The Jean-Pierre Jeunet film, La Cite des Infants Perdus (The City of Lost Children) - a crazed, ageing inventor, who lives in a castle-like-oil-rig needs children in order to steal their dreams [but only manages to collect nightmares from them] - would be MY choice of trippy film, every time. A pure mind maze if ever there was one.
