I thought the Grammys were very fair and deserved this year.

Seven Nation Army into a sort of a "jam". It sounded like there were 4 people up there playing as opposed to 2. Jack impressed many people I believe. He is incredibly, refreshingly unique in a hum-drum music world.

What made it so great I feel is that he goes up there and sings from the heart. He plays from the heart. No frills. No extras. You get what you see. I have a lot of respect for that. Not one of these guitarists nowadays that jump around like a monkey drawing attention to themselves playing power chords.

Incredible. Anyone know where I can download the video?

Re: Oscars and Grammies

I wish I had seen the white stripes perform, they were my favorite band of the year. But, in Spin magazine and something else, Elephant got album of the year. Oh well, I guess they didn't want to pay that much for a crappy award.

I think he's suggesting that you pay to win grammies.

Re: Oscars and Grammies

Perhaps 'record' equals 'single'?

Re: Oscars and Grammies

Maybe the 'record' is based on the production and performance of the song, and 'song' is based purely on the songwriting skills?

Re: Oscars and Grammies

Shane is exactly right. The "Song of the Year" is a songwriters award. Record of the year is a Producers award.
