As for Waters being a bass player I say he is alright. There are three kinds of bass players really, one is the kind like flea, totally independ and creative and doing some different riff from the guitar. The other is a bass player like waters, keeps a strong background with the drums with a hint of some of its own little speacial fill in type stuff. And the third is a stupid bass player like Jason Newstead.
