I would have to agree with Wrightkeys! Back in the day "Wish You Were Here" was an amazing album. Don't get me wrong it still is. I would give it a 10 out of 10 as well.
Seeing it live was incredable.

That's amazing. If you wanted to you could record the entire album (lol).
I Give Wish You Were Here a 8 out of 10. The music draggs in some areas. A great album thought. Doesn't beat Dark Side.... but that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

WYWH is my favorite musically, and the lyrics aint bad either.

Let me expand on that. Dark Side of the Moon, though hailed as the second coming doesn't live up to this album musically. Though lyrically, its got it beat. WYWH is a great album, with my favorite song being Have A Cigar, the song smacks of sarcasm. But the best part about WYWH is that it realizes the whole concept album thing better than any other, even the Wall.

Dark Side was a little less ambitous and The Wall was a little too ridiculous, just overshooting the whole thing. But WYWH is like one big song, with SOYCD opening and closing it all, its perfect. Can't say its my fave, cause well, I can never tie down one but its pretty heavy on my rotation.

The coughing and sniffing you refer to are meant to give the impression of someone sitting in a room, playing along to the radio. Actually, if you listen really closely, you can hear someone talking in the background, 2.18 seconds into SOYCD. I presume it's just a studio gaff.

IMHO 'Wish you were here' is the best (along w/ animals). SOYCD is hands down my favorite song. But i've already been thgough this.

You see 13 channels... Wrightkeys knows all this because he is Rick Wright. That is the reason for his now infamous (jk) "Outraged" section.

seriously though i envy and respect those who have such an in depth knowledge on creating music.

Not quite up there with Animals, definitley not DSOTM.

Nevertheless a great album, much better than Robie Williams and similar tw**s could come up with today.

As I have asked before though, isn't it a bit self indulgant ?

Wish You Were Here is Miles Better than Animals, and is Even slightly better then DSOTM. Fact is, WYWH is my PF Favourite.

Still think it's a slightly self indulgant album. The main focus is the music business and Syd. It's not exactly covering issues important to Joe Public.

Musically it is a good album and the song Wish You Were Here is one of my Floyd favourites.

Nice Job, Wrightkeys, It's good to see someone gathering soo much information on this awesome album, I really love it, I was introduced to this and DSOTM at the same time so I love them both alot.
