| Re: Problems A plea for help from any of you computer-boy-wizards who are familiar with Windows 98. I just re-formatted this computer, and it doesn't appear that all the pixels are showing up in photos, etc. i.e., colors are screwed up or missing, text is hard to read, background is a series of crosshatching and patterns rather than solid toning. I've diddled with every setting and adjuctment I can find to no avail. I'm about this close ---><--- to going totally "one of my turns" and tossing this friggin' monitor through a window. Any help would be appreciated -- I'm a computer illiterate.

| Re: Problems I also have a problem. Most pictures on this site come up as X's. Then I right click and press "show picture", and it loads. IT's weird. Why doesn't it load the first time? |

| Re: Problems I tried to update the video driver (Standard PCI Graphics adapter)(?)--I think that's it -- but it said it's working properly. Maybe I'll retry the formatting from scratch again. Thanks for the help, DT.

| Re: Problems Hey strat, try configuring your computer to use a higher color depth. Right-click on the desktop area, choose "Properties", then go to the "Settings" tabs and change color quality to "Medium (16 bits)" or "Highest (32 bits)". If these options are not available, then you definately need to download and update your video drivers. WinDrivers used to be a pretty good place to find that kind of stuff. Please let us know if it works...

| Re: Problems While we're on the topic: in AIM every time I type up a message and click "send" it waits 10 seconds to post it(it's supposed to send it immediately). This has gotten rather annoying and I was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it. Please PM me (or just post it) if you can help, thanks ect.
