I play bass myself and don't think of Roger was all that great of a bass player. I personally like the bass at the beginning of "let there be more light." But "money" is the is easily the most classic bassline he's ever written...one of the more popular bass lines in rock n roll history actually.

He is no Chris Squire, or Geddy Lee your right. AhHHHHHHHHH! Money, the most over played Pink Floyd song there is. Its rediculous how often I hear that played in comparison to anything else on DSOTM

I would have to say One of These Days is probably my fav bass work they've done. That one segment on Echoes is also pretty good. Hmm...yes, Money is a good one too, but not overrated (though it is most certainly not the best song on DSotM). Another one that sticks out in my mind is Sheep.

In my opinion The Happiest Days of Our Lives is good too

And on Comfortably Numb backs Gilmour's final solo rather well

I agree that Waters isnt exactly the cream of the crop but i really love the bass line to Have a Cigar. btw: the basline from Sheep is really similar to One of These Days dont you think? (both picked and double tracked basically staying on same note...)

Its not often i notice a bass line and think ,oh thats nice. Only on Jaco Pastorious songs do i notice them. Because then you can hear a guy who knows how to play. Pat Metheny and jaco

One of These Days are extremely cool, love it! The bass lines on Money and ABitW pt.2 are quite neat as well...

De Acuerdo Ok, Ok, Ok... I agree with all of you, but I discovered something very, very nice in the 2002 In The Flesh Tour. There is a piece of the SOYCD, than always have been one of my fav Waters bass. It was amazing the sound of bass since the beginning till the end of Shine on you Crazy Diamond Part two. That for me is one, best Waters work and it was live
