Ok Folks, here it is...

below, Post the Time that you WANT to Chat, don't say, "what about this..."

Just Post what time and day you want

Example:

Friday 8PM Eastern

We'll see what times will be most convenient for most people - and we should develop something soon.

Thank you,
Patrick.

I work rotating shifts (mid-8, 4-mid, 8-4 EST), but I'm off every Saturday and most Fridays, so pretty well any time's fine...I'll be 'round.

Oh, you want a specific time, heh. Kinda difficult w/ the shifts, but sometime around Friday or Saturday, 6-12pm EST. That's as specific as I get.

I'm there from 6 PM to maximum midnight on weekdays, which is 5:00 PM - 11:00 PM CET
and the mornings on Saturdays.
CET means "Central European Time", which is one hour AFTER Greenwich Time.

Saturday Morning for me means Friday evening & night for you guys in north america.

Actually- what we need is more members.

If we all mail, say, 3 people in our address books and put them on to this site, that might swell the numbers somewhat and make it more more of a likelyhood of encountering someone else in chat.

I'm on at varying times during the day, but unfortunately, not to the extent of being able to sit in a chat room for any great length of time (which is a bummer), so it would make sense to have a few more names in the hat.

Cheers,

Mark

Fixx, aint you the one who asked for chat?

Tho, I know what you mean, no time for me to sit here idly by just to chat, unless it is while I am doing other things.

I don't wish to split hairs here, but I initially suggested a messenger type thang, to facilitate chat with individual users when they logged in, as opposed to everyone at one time, being already aware that, due to differing time zones, there were only ever 2-5 (at most) other registered users on at any one time. It was only when others seemed unwilling to add any new programs to their already bulging registries, that my original idea became subverted and became a chat room.

Although, to give credit to everyone that participated, I think it works pretty well, especially now that we share one with a couple of other Floyd sites.

I'm not being arsey or anything, I just wanted to set the record straight.

Cheers Lads,

Mark

I notice the chat program has changed since I last looked at it. As I am technically hopeless at IT, can someone tell me how to use the damn thing ?!?

Do I need to use commands or just type away ?

Yours luditely

Simon

Just by the way, if any of you use IRC, I've just registered a channel on DALnet, #TheAltars. Feel free to drop by + chat if you like. If you do, make sure you identify yourselves ie. "Hey, I'm fixxlevy" (or whatever). It's a new chan, and there are very few people (often just myself and the other op  ) in, but, well, drop by anyway  if you're not going to kick my ass out of here for advertising, heh. I'm the chan founder btw, and in IRC I go by Altars_of_Aldous or Leather_Clad_Dionysus
