Enlightment/Realising stuff

Riding on my bicycle through the city.
Work is done, thoughts going through my head.
Sun shining down on me, a sudden feeling of extreme weakness.
Everyday problems approach me in an overwhelming way.
I walk into the house with work being an excuse.
Sitting at the table it begins, I start thinking.
The man who always seemed to be speaking the thruth
seems like a liar now. For the first time I notice the look on his face.
The look like he's eating shit instead of his favourite meal.
I see the golden child and realise it's slowly going the wrong way.
Also feeling pity for the ones who still believe in the promised future.
The whole affair I sit there silently, amazed by what I see.
Amazed by this everyday experience, even unable to complain about work.
The dog walking around the table, such an amazing sight.
As I walk towards the refrigerator I am still amazed by it all.
I grab some milk and I suddenly wonder:
What would the world population be like if sex didn't give pleasure?

Re: Enlightment/Realising stuff

Methinks a species devoid of the instinct to reproduce would not have had a second generation (ie, population would be zero)...asuming that part of that 'pleasure' is satisfying the instinctual desire.

As an interesting aside, there's only one or two species besides humans (dolphins and something else) who partake of sex purely for the purpose of pleasure (and not to reproduce).

Maybe you should ride your bike less often.

Re: Enlightment/Realising stuff

This was also a load of bollocks alright but there is no influence in here, no idea why I wrote it but it has nothing to do with any of that.
