This is a message board. You want adventure? Go join the boyscouts or something.

Re: The Forums Stagnance

I don't really get this one. This is a participatory medium, not tv. If you want to read something interesting, well, you also have to post something interesting. You get what you give.

You've posted some really good threads, Joey. But, y'know, you aren't being very consistent. After all, you were also running for moderator. And, as far as spammers go, well, you didn't get to see the pictures of the dead kids they posted - if there hadn't been a mod on line to get rid of them, that crap would still be going on - and I definitely don't want to be part of a snuff kiddie porn board. You're welcome to consider that 'spicing things up' , but I don't.

Those punks were trying to ruin this board and it would be insane to have keep them here to get some ''excitement''. I will make sure that any tosser trying to make this board ''exciting'' will be banned without exception.

Well I didn't know they posted pictures of dead kids. But there have been instances before where people were relatively harmless and were banned.

Well, I don't know, this place has been around for about 10 years now, everything that could have been discussed pretty much has. It's inevitable that it would be getting slow now.

New members come, old members go. That way this place won't die a slow death. After all, I'm a new member myself. Get more new members like me and you'll be fine

Well, not to beat it to death, but remember two things, as well. You don't get to see the person's IP address, and the mods do. That means we can pretty well tell who is who and we can definitely tell where somebody is. If, say, a banned user returned, he can be identified, and perhaps banned, depending on the decision of the mods.

The other part you don't see is the discussion between the mods, which can be quite heated. After the TW incursion, though, I think most of us are a little short of patience with the nonsense.

Re: The Forums Stagnance

Have people already forgotten those damned "Server Busy" messages?

Sorry, but that TW was nothing along the likes of what I'd call "exciting" - **** 'em really. This board's been as fun as it was before. The trick is to balance your time - naturally y'all would've noticed that I don't post as much as I do anymore but that's because frankly I don't have the time. I also go away for a period of time and come back, and it helps keep this place fresher. I don't make any big announcements that "Yo I'm taking off" and stuff.

Concern about this forum is good - but also consider that this forum has been around for 10 years now... wouldn't really be possible if it wasn't good, was it? I'm not saying rest on our laurels but just pointing out that this place must have something going for it.

I recall when I first came in, I was hit a bit harsh by a couple members but I realise now why. Quite frankly I deserved it, because I was being a complete idiot. Hopefuly I'm not the spamming fruitcake I once was (I'll never forget that Marko LMAO! Too funny!)

Quite honestly, I think DT is right - you get as much as you give.

I get irritated with public bickerings and feuds. There was a reason PMs were invented but apparently to some, washing their dirty linen in public is considered normal. There are some wonderful quotes about arguing with idiots or wrestling with pigs in the mud.

And where I come from, Gentlemen (and ladies) don't question board policy or moderator actions in the public forum - but in the "Questions/Comments" forum or better yet, PM. Whatever your disagreements, please don't forget that we are all here as Paulo's guests. Just as the host is gracious, so is the guest respectful .

Yes we all have our quirks, foibles and traits. That's what makes this place unique. If you don't like it, you can always depart looking for greener pastures - quite frankly noone is chaining you to this website.

Re: The Forums Stagnance

I still come here most days but more often than not I'm not really interested in what's being discussed (Floyd have dropped off my musical radar over the last few years) so I don't bother posting much anymore, however that's more a failing of myself rather than the forum in general, and I suppose to the newer members it's just as interesting as it was to me when I first joined.

I may be here a lot but (hard as it may be to believe) I don't really post so much anymore.

When I'm home I'm usually here on MSN and Mobstar. And always listening to some great tunes. I don't watch a lot of TV these days, it's all bollocks anyway.
