Some info needed by those who know...

This may just be a coincidence, or not, DSoTM and Oz come to mind, but anyways, my question is this: Did Floyd ever go to Oregon, specifically Eugene, Oregon, before writing "Careful With That Axe, Eugene?" The local high school in Eugene are known as the South Eugene High School Axemen. Maybe the founders of the school were really big Floyd fans. My girlfriend went there through high school, but she like Metallica and BNL, so not really a Floyd fan and didn't care that much when I asked her. I'm also not sure how old the school is, but I think I remember her saying that her mother may have gone there when she was that age. Can anybody quench my curiosity?

Well, I can't say for sure but I believe the Axe referred to in CWTA,E is a guitar, while the school probably takes its name from lumberjacking, seeing how Oregon has a huge timber industry.

Your answer makes too much sense. I totally overlooked the lumberjacking industry as a source for the Axemen name. I've got egg on my face. But it's stil quite an amazing coincidence don't you think? I thought so at least when I first put 2 and 2 together.
