Nice one! And why wouldn't Rick enjoy Nebraska's "Big Sky"? BTW, I think FWr said it wasn't Rhode Island not "not New England", within which Vermont is included, I think. Does anyone actually believe Rick would live in Detroit though (no offense to Detroit-dwellers)? Last edited by Bride of a Bull; 05-27-2002 at 06:31 AM. |

True, VT is a part of New England (but the only one without a coastline), but I listed it just so all 50 states had been mentioned. Puerto Rico is not a state, just a territory, but a good guess. I think Miami now belongs to Cuba. So, F-W, end the suspense. Last edited by stratman; 05-27-2002 at 11:05 AM. |

| All right, folks, the moment you've all been waiting for!!! According to an article I've read (MOJO Magazine--Title: "Band Imploding" or something like that), as of 1999 the Wrights resided either in or near... ATLANTA, GEORGIA! Honourable mention to Stratman for Savannah, although that's not the proper city. Although Several Species got Atlanta, it was done in a "scattershot" fashion. But there it is! In a way, I do think that the more refined elements of Southern culture fit Mr. Wright. OK...I'll just let the next person to see this ask the next question, since that was such a challenge. |

| That's awesome. I've been to Atlanta, and it's such a nice city. Here's my question: Pink Floyd recorded a lot of music at Abbey Road Studios. When the Floyd recorded Dark Side of the Moon, how many tracks did their tape machine have? No searching!! |

OK, I guess I'm up.... What is the name of the singer who was briefly with the first incarnation of The Pink Floyd Sound? Hint: his former group was the "Redcaps" and he quit the Floyd and went back to the RAF. Sorry, I posted at the same time as Shane.....my guess at his question....8? | After I guessed 8, I looked up the answer. I was surprised. I admit my question might be hard to answer, it's not mentioned in Nick Schaffner's book. Since this guy came through neither the lineage of Ramblers/Jokers Wild nor The Abdabs, it's not a familiar name in Floydlore. Therefore, students, use of your PF Encyclopedia is authorized. | Since you allowed me to use my PF encyclopedia, I found the answer! Chris Dennis. He went to the Persian Gulf in 1965. I'll let people search for the answer to my question. It is rather obscure. It is in the PF Encyclopedia. Hint 2: Meddle was recorded with the same amount of tracks. |

| The answer to your Q is 24 tracks. I don't have a PFE, but it was in Nick S's book. I didn't know they had recorders w/ that many tracks in the early 70's. Chris Dennis is correct....I wasn't sure PFE would have that, it's so obscure. |

| That's odd... PF Encyclopedia said 16 tracks, and I thought that was the right answer. However, the Schaffner book does say 24 tracks. I don't know who to believe. (If anyone else is interested, here are the number of tracks on the tape machines that were used for some Floyd albums: Piper, Saucerful, More: 4 tracks Ummagumma (studio stuff), Atom Heart Mother: 8 tracks Obscured by Clouds: I don't know. Probably 8. Meddle: 16 tracks DSOTM: 16 or 24 tracks (conflicting resouces) Wish You Were Here, Animals: 24 tracks The Wall: a 16 track machine and 24 track machine, somehow used in tandem. Puzzling.) Anyway, I guess Stratman can pose the next question, if he feels like it. |
