OK. I'll pull the plug on this. The answer is "Peanuts". Apparently this song was the most requested number at the Joker's Wild regular gigs when they were the house band at a Cambridge Club called "Les Jeux Interdits".

Shane was closest with his guess of "My Boy Lollipop", so he's up to bat. It's interesting to me that the guy relating this story, Clive Welham, made reference to that very song-----comparing it to Peanuts.

Anyway... here goes...

Nick Mason has played three different brands of drums during his tenure with the Floyd. What brands were they?

And, for my question, searching is permitted.

(Oh, yes, Stratman; you called me 'burrito-boy'. I was amused, to say the least. )

I know he's played Ludwigs. So I'll guess Gretsch & Pearl for the other 2.

You got one right, Stratman. However, Gretsch and Pearl are wrong.

Hints: the first brand of drums he played are kinda obscure these days, but popular and cheap back in the '60s. He is pictured playing a set of this brand of drums in the Schaffner book.
And, after sticking with Ludwig since mid-1971, he switched to the third, and last (so far) brand in 1994. This brand is not cheap; they do a lot of custom-like drums. And they are commonly known by only two initials.

Hope this helps. Remember... search away, if you want to.

His current set must be DW's then?

I've studied the photos in the Schaffner book with a jeweler's loupe, and I can't see a name. I sure as hell don't know enough about drums to recognize them. I'll keep searching.

Yep, Stratman; Nick played a huge set of DWs on the Division Bell tour.

The photo in the Schaffner book is the only one with just Nick in it. It makes mention to his 'cosmic' drums... and in that photo, he's playing the first brand. That is the picture I am referring to.

Since this brand is a bit unknown these days, here's a clue. In that photo, the tag on the middle tom has a 'P' on it. That is the first initial of this brand.

This should be an easy one. Dave has two brothers and a sister.

1.) What are his brother's names?
2.) What musical instruments do they play?

Unofficial question: Was his sister a babe? (obviously wildly subjective, and I don't know--never seen a picture, has anyone else?)

Well, there's Mark Gilmour, who played with Dave in a 1978 promo video session. Mark played guitar.
I don't know the name or instrument of his other brother.
As for Dave's sister... who knows if she's a babe or not... she might have inherited those big lips that Dave has, which can be a good or bad thing in a girl!
I would be interested as to Dave's sister's looks, though.

i don't want to know if dave's sister is hot or not. what if she looks exactly like dave. then it would just be disturbing because it would be dave with like a wig and a dress on or whatever she wears. kind of like you never thought your best friends sister was hot because they looked similar and it would be like going out with your best friend.

Good point Thorin, but one of my best friends had a totally HOT sister. They looked almost nothing alike, though.. so I guess your theory doesen't hold up there. It is right in about 99.9% of other cases, though.
Anyway... I'll stop talking of my experiences and let the trivia get under way...

Well, I can say this much- if his daughters are anything to go by, a female with a strong resemblance to David wouldn't be such a bad thing. His daughter Claire (I believe it was her I saw in the photograph, anyway, with Sarah) resembles him very much, and she is a stunningly pretty girl.

And isn't his other brother named Peter? Or am I too fatigued from my day to recall clearly? I don't remember which instrument he played, though. (I'm not sure what I remember...long day...)

Cheers!

Mark Gilmour/guitar is correct...funny, I thought that would be the hardest of the two to find.

Yeah, as usual, yer right, Thor--It's best not to know about Dave's sis. It could be disturbing. I was thinking of those natural red lips (shaped different, of course) on a girl and it sounded pretty good.
