Re: Floyd and Drugs

hey, I don't take any drugs but Pink Floyd. I never smoked, or drank, or sniffed anything, and don't think that this will ever be necessary to like Floyd, or vice-versa.

Damnit bro!

Oh yes, it was all under the able supervision of my brother himself. The guy let me drink whiskey because he was too drunk to object! Was that an experience or what! Very different from a weed trip but very surreal nevertheless...

It's probably one of the reasons why I'm partial to scotch/whiskey when it comes to drinks too

NNJ: Still mad at me for all that blanket posting?

Re: Floyd and Drugs

Haha. Back when I was active duty living in the dorms, where all we did was drink beer, (....brief pause while reminiscing...)

Anyways, I recall being, whelp, highly intoxicated. I put one of the Pulse discs in my stereo on "Repeat all", and turned the volume all the way up. Then, music blaring, I went to bed. Yeah, well, my dorm neighbors tried desparately to wake me up, or get into my room that night. Fortunately for them, I was way passed out, and they got to lull their drunken selves to sleep with Floyd too.

floyd and drugs

"Most people still tend to think of us as a sort of drug orientated band...but we're not...you can trust us." ~~David Gilmour

okay, consider the fact that Pink Floyd is a product of thier times...and thier times just happened to be during a real boom in recreational drug use...and it just happens that most of that drug use was connected in some way or another to rock music. It was the 70's...how does one explain a time when "Just say no." didn't exist?

does it mean Pink Floyd can only be enjoyed whilst indulging in intoxicants?...of course not. Does it mean that Pink Floyd were high while making thier music? Well, even though they deny deny deny...I tend to think that they were just as involved with the trappings of thier "scene" as anyone else...no more no less.

"And you know all the musicians who made that music that has enhanced your life throughout the years...rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeaaaaaallllllll ****ing high on drugs." ~~Bill Hicks.
