Re: List yer equipment... you know you want to

For Christmas, I am going to get a guitar talkbox that I found on the internet that does not need a microphone or a PA system. If I had gotten a talkbox before, I would have had to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars, but now there's one that I can get for $100 that does not require a mic and Pa system. Holy ****, I've wanted one for so long and now I can actually afford to get one...YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!

Re: List yer equipment... you know you want to

A true talkbox will always need a mic and PA to function.. What you've found is probably a talkbox emulator, a digital processor that can produce a similar waveform to a talkbox, but will lack the ability to allow you to use your own larynx to shape the sound..

I believe Danelectro is producing such a beastie.. I've messed around with theirs... it's OK, but I was left unimpressed.

Yeah it is a danelectro, but it still has the tube to put in your mouth, but I think it has like a couple little mics built in that somehow let you use it by just plugging it straight into your amp. Yeah I know it won't be as good as a "real" one, but it costs a LOT less. And since I am not in a band, there's no point for me to buy real one.

talkbox

The ratings aren't that great because a few people gave it 0's, but almost everyone who reviewed it said loved it.

Re: List yer equipment... you know you want to

I just got a new amp and the talkbox for christmas, and....wow!

The talbox is so sweet. There are 2 little mics on the tube near the end that goes in your mouth, so it works just like a regular talkbox, except that all the sound comes out of the amp. It's soooo sweet!!!!

Re: List yer equipment... you know you want to

Ok guys I'm new here, been playing guitar a year and a half nearly now, heres what I got:

1979 USA Fender Stratocaster, Ash body, Maple neck and fingerboard, Natural finish. (Thing weighs a ton!)
2004 Mexican Fender Standard Telecaster, Alder body, Black with white pickguard and maple neck and fingerboard.
2003 Walden D351SB Accoustic, black with rosewood neck.
1996 Squier Strat, black with white pickguard, probably made of plywood with a maple neck and rosewood fretboard (My first Guitar)
Some 1990's Vetster 'Stage Seires' (thats how it spelt on the neck... classy) Fender Jazz Bass copy.

MXR Dyna Comp
MXR Blue Box
Dunlop High Gain Volume Pedal
Digitech RP80
Boss DD6 Digital Delay
and on the way Boss BD2 Blues Driver.

No amp at the moment, I had a Marshall mini stack for a while, one of the made in England ones, a bit of a collectors item but they dont really suit Fender's in my view. Currently saving for a Deluxe Reverb.

Re: List yer equipment... you know you want to

In my opinion they are weak for everybody else than the musicians playing infront of thousands. Keep in mind that there isnt a single guitarist (that i know of) who uses those EMG's in studio.. Your better of with vintage 50's if you wanna recreate Gilmour's sound..
