Re: This is hard for me to admit

Mercy, you lot may need humour booster shots and/or complete transplants of your funny bones. It's all only meant in fun. Don't take it all so seriously.

Anyway, Dave should be honoured I would be so willing to assume the "Gimour whore" moniker. I am one of his greatest fans, after all.

Re: This is hard for me to admit

_archer: (Now, I may be assuming here, correct me if I'm wrong, BoaB) But I think the GW moniker refers to his love of the Dave Floyd, Gilmour's solo stuff, etc. "Gilmour-whore" as in big fan, not as in "Dave's a whore". Dig?

Re: This is hard for me to admit

BoaB: OH I SEE NOW  , Sorry if I was too dry for your Humour spirit, or if I haven't read carefully enough your post. I just couldn't understand, being a big floyd fan myself with Gilmour as my Favourite Floyd member (Especially in the old days, but also today), how a big fan of PF and Dave Gilmour could call Dave a "Whore", even humorously, for over 10 posts.
Hope this clear out everything, and I must admit, that though I might not be a "Gilmour Whore", although I do like AMLOR (Not ALL tracks of Course), I could represent him as a defending lawyer in a trial... (Some self Humour), So I must be a "Gilmour-Lawyer"

Re: This is hard for me to admit

_archer: Gilmour whore, Gilmour lawyer, same thing really. (j/k)

Perceive: No correction needed, except for the Dave Floyd, Gilmour solo distinction. I like David Gilmour as a superb guitar artiste regardless of the group or otherwise he plays for.

Charade: But it was a very pretty speech nonetheless.

Radio: You really should pay better attention. (j/k)

Re: This is hard for me to admit

It's amazing what with all the Gilmour Whore talk that the singular and self-professed Number 1 Gilmour Whore never posted here.

Hmmm...

I've just been lurking a bit... when I'm not working. My current job now requires roughly twelve hour days, six days a week (give or take a token hour here or there), so I've not as much time for posting as I used to.

And for those of you new to the concept of GilmourWhoredom (yes, there is such a thing...), check out my website, eh?

http://www.gilmourwhore.com

It's all there for the discovery - so own your GilmourWhoredom, lads and lasses!

Cheers!

Re: This is hard for me to admit

>> except of course a new machine parts 1 and 2, WHAT THE HELL IS THAT? <<

I'm confused when people say they don't like "A New Machine Pt 1" and "A New Machine Pt 2" because it shows a complete lack of understanding of their point - they aren't meant to be listened to as single songs...they are there to support "Terminal Frost". It's a cycle of three songs with one theme. In ANM Pt 1 he is saying he feels like he's been living forever, and wonders if he'll ever have relief from the world behind his eyes. TF is expressing the coldness of the world he views. ANM Pt 2 he is saying that "it's only a life time" (in other words he isn't going to live forever with his pain).

It's like when people pick apart "The Wall" and say, "oh I hate "Stop" because it's a dumb song". Songs such as these are not meant to be listened to outside of the order in which it has been placed. If you want to appreciate concept albums or song cycles, you have to realise that the sum of all parts is what counts, not the individual sections of the overall piece.

Re: This is hard for me to admit

That's funny I thought they were just songs on a fairly mediocre album, well you live and learn.
