Re: Favourite tracks from this era

Um, isn't "Careful With That Axe, Eugene" from a different era?

Re: Favourite tracks from this era

WEll, Originaly It's from that era, But they played it Live deep into the next era, with different versions.
Anyway, It's a great track altogether, No matter which era(though I really like the version on Pompeii...).
Shine on, Guys & Gals!

Everybody on here seems to like the version on Pompeii. Is the Pompeii video still readily available?

Is there a Coconuts, Sam Goody, or Camelot close by? Cause I know you can get it at one of thase 3 stores. I'm sure you can order it from your fave record shop if not.

Re: Favourite tracks from this era

I've never heard of any of those stores, but thanks for the information anyways.

Some of my favorite early era songs are:

Bike
Interstellar Overdrive
Let There Be More Light
Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun
Jugband Blues

Oh, and Green is the Colour is also from another era, the "After Syd Barrett" era. But Green is the Colour is a very nice song.

Re: Favourite tracks from this era

As Far as I know, They've played "Green is the Colour" on the Saucerfull of secrets tour, but I might have been mistaken, so I'll double check when I have the time, but HEY, didn't they play Dark side of the moon on the meddle Tour?

Re: Favourite tracks from this era

I also really like "green is the colour"- but the version Id heard most until a few years ago came off a bootleg recorded around Europe, 1970, and it's a medley with "Careful with that axe Eugene", and they're both really bloody brilliant.
The track "Saucerful of secrets" off the Live at Pompeii vid is really good too. a lot of the footage has dated, I suppose but it shows them as they were then-firmly pointed at the sky, as it were.
