Well, I've insulted this enough in the last couple weeks, so I decided to create a place where this album can be discussed. And when I'm talking about this I'm not taking into account that they had to make stuff to fit parts of the movie. I'm just taking it as an album and the music as is.

I've listened to this several times and I still think of it the same way I did when I first listened to it: it's not very good.

The worst song on this album in my opinion is Quicksilver. When I first listened to it I thought it was actually going to go somewhere. I won't be mistaken next time.

Up the Khyber is another song which was bad. It's short, but there's nothing in the song.

Most of the songs on this album aren't very good. But most aren't bad, they're nothing special, just like the album.

Aside from these songs though, there are some great songs.

Green Is The Colour is one of my favourite early Floyd tracks. It's a great song, a little too short though. My favorite track off the album.

Dramatic Theme and Main Theme are both very good songs also. Although on one of these two tracks (I forget which one) the bass riff (I think it's bass) sounds a lot like the intro to Let There Be More Light.

Overall, I didn't like this album. There wasn't enough songs that stood out enough to make me want to listen to this often.

Feel free to criticize my review and give your own reviews on this album.

Unfocused. That's a good phrase to apply to it. But it IS music to illustrate certain scenes and, erm, vibes within the context of the film, so it's wrong to expect it to have the same thematic continuity you'd recognise from one of their original studio releases.

Cymbaline's good too.

i have to agree. the best songs on this album would probably have to be green is the colour, cymbaline, and the main theme. but the rest leave you feeling empty. though you can't deny the reason for this is because it was more of a soundtrack then an actual music album. cirrus minor is ok too but not as great as the others.

I agree with Radiochair. The album doesn't do much for me but GITC and cymbaline are great songs though there are live and ROIO versions that are much better. Green is the Colour is my favorite song that was officially released by that point. The Nile Song is worth noting too in my opinion.

The problem with More is that it suffers from the "This doesn't sound a f***ing thing like Pink Floyd" syndrome...It's a departure from their style at the time (to say the least) and the style we've come to expect since...the songs are more straight-forward kinda rock tunes (especially Nile Song/Ibiza Bar, heh) rather than the lush sounds of, well, WYWH is the perfect example, I guess. As a first (or second, third, whatever) album from a different band, I think it would be well received (though I will agree that there are some really awful instrumentals on there...Up the Khyber comes to mind, as does Quicksilver...) but since it's nothing like the great albums of the '70s, or even ASoS and AHM, it tends not to be too well received in the Floyd community...well, that's my two cents, anyway.

It's a great album catching the mood of that times, with hippies living on mediterranean islands. It's a soundtrack. You can't judgeit without seeing the movie. I love this music cause I know what they wanted to express with it.

Cirrus Minor one of the best Pink Floyd songs ever? A bit of an exaggeration in my thinking.

Cirrus Minor is a classic Floyd track.

... and though I don't like The Nile Song, I am simply obsessed by Ibiza Bar.
