Roger Waters

I think that Roger Waters was a really good bass player. Even though I have read that David Gilmour played the bass for him on the early records.

He's not a good bassplayer... if you'd played bass from the early sixites wouldn't you know your way around it too?
Waters was good at lyrics. And he was very serious in the studio, wouldn't allow drugs and such in studio.

Gilmour played bass on Hey You didn't he?

Did he play bass on anything else on The Wall?

Okay, Gilmour played the FRETLESS bass solos on Hey You, but thats it. second, rogs bass lines fit in well with the music, which is what the bass is about, unless you are a solo artist who playes bass (stu hamm).

I guess Rog is a decent bassist. None of them are exactly outstanding musicians. They just know what to play and when to play it.

You're right, none of them were exactly brilliant... but when they got together to make music, it was some of the best. Who knows.

I THINK THAT ITīS AN EXCELLENT DEFINITION....A DECENT BASSIST.
HIS REAL POWERS ARE IN THE LYRICS, HIS PRESENCE ON STAGE AND THE CREATION OF SUBJECTS TO DEVELOP IDEAS.

yeah, i play bass, because of roger, and he's very "tasteful" thats what the whole band is...simple, but, tasteful...thats how it usually goes with great bands.

I don't think Roger could even tune his own bass for a while, Richard had to do it.
