Dawn of the Dead One can't really compare it too much to the original, but it's a nice modern adaption which stands up on its own. Anyway, I'm happy to see a zombie film back in the theatre again. Anyone else here see it yet? Or enjoy the original George Romero 'trio' (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead)? Or enjoy zombies at all? Do reply below.

I haven't seen it but it looks really good. It looks genuinely frightening. I may see it if I can find someone 17 or older do go with....damnit.

I've only seen the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I though it was bloody scary and not even pleasant scariness/ suspense. I saw a doc. (American Nightmare(?) I think) about these old horror movies. It was their (directors,....) way dealing with the Vietnam War, Black human right movement and something else I've forgotten. Romero actually was in Vietnam (as a soldier) and started there with disfiguring people: he put scars and burns on them and after the war he went to Hollywood. It's all about numming the viewer to the violence and making the viewer feel what soldiers though in the war, seeing arms and legs on the ground and eventually not careing about them.

I've seen the trilogy and the new release, and aside from the original, they were all terrible. But, i expect them to be, so i'm pleased that they are. Only thing I don't like is how they've changed the zombie over the years, beginning with the Night sequels or 'parts' in the eighties. You know, the whole how they can run and stuff. The new one was too closely associated with 28 Days Later in my mind, which was equally as awful. I didn't see much correlation between the original and the remake, aside from the mall and dead people.

I liked 28 days later, but that may have been due to the soundtrack and the fact that it was taking place in Brittain. PS Where are you shane, you owe me a lil' something... MY VIRGINITY!

I saw, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spottless Mind" instead. It was really awesome, I highly reccomend it even though I can't stand Jim Carrey. Maybe i'll see this, "Dawn of the Dead" next weekend.
