Nirvana. Ughh. I like them, but come on, they're not the "best", as I've heard emo/grundge kids say. The only thing remotely different about Nirvana is that they left out the guitar solo, because Kurt can't play. All their albums were OK, nothing spectacular. "MTV: Unplugged" is the best thing they did. It makes me laugh everytime I overhear someone say, "Oh my god, Nirvana is teh rulezest!"

Re: Most overated or underated bands or artists

overrated:
bon jovi - their initials are fitting for them since they have always been corporate suckups;
boston - did they make a pact w/ the devil ? - why is their derived overproduced muzak still all over the radio?.. they put different lyrics to one song (amanda) & even released both songs on the same shitty album, talk abt a lack of originality(!)

underrated:
jack bruce - one the best singer/musicians on the planet has never had any significant attn paid to his solo albums, unlike his former bandmate eric clapton who plays a mean gtr
love - many ppl don't even know their music, but they influenced robert plant,jimi hendrix, and jim morrison in their day; their album "forever changes" is a timeless classic

Hey now...lol

Can't blame them for working the biz. You try being a hair band from Jersey(ugh) and making it the hard way.
