yes he does have some screaming lines at the song, but wat i think is great about the song. Is the end with that strange acoustic guitar that you also hear at the beginning, and the saxophone. Right after he sang ''and the sun went down sooner each day''.

It's a bit of a joke. The lyrics are terribly self-important, and it's the kind of thing I'd expect to hear when playing vice city on 'emotion' or some other ballad station, but it's great background music.

It's a headphone record. You're supposed to give it your full attention and let the sounds tell the story. If you treat it like a regular rock and roll record (which everyone who gives it those bad reviews does), of course it's going to sound awful. It obviously doesn't stack up well in the Melodic Content/Fancy Chord Progressions department. But that's not the point. I like to think of it more as a soap opera than a Pink Floyd record. The lyrics are fantastic; they've got such lovely rhythms and cadences. Once you get into it you can listen again and again without getting bored. But if you’re looking for Dark Side of the Moon Part Two all you’re going to hear is screeching.

I guess one could use the "recurring theme" excuse so that the album is tied together more, but basically Roger is nothing without the other 3/4 of the Floyd.

I guess you all had to have been there. I have had a bootleg tape playing on my Walkman® - I know, I am a dinosaur - recorded by a dear even older now departed friend at a Pros and Cons concert.

The recording is fairly ropey but it has double sentimental value for me, however his concert was certainly less impressive than the one I witnessed.

They played some DSoTM Brain Damage and when the mad laughter occurs I can hear my departed friend's echoing laughter, which adds something for me anyway.

I told you you had to be there.

OK, Bryron, we'll all excuse you for liking Pros & Cons. Your poignant story almost made my eyes damp. Well, not really, but it's touching, nevertheless.

I would like to nominate Botley for the "Milo Minderbinder Memorial Chocolate-Covered Cotton" Award.
His well-reasoned endorsement for Pros & Cons will convince many that it is actually worth listening to.

I liked him too, Byron, but P&C still sucks - and, as I recall, he thought so, as well.

I'm pro-Gilmour. But I don't like AMLoR, or TDB.

Meh. To hell with you plebs then.

These are the pros and cons of hitch-hiking...

I dunno, maybe it has something to do with having been a professional hitch-hiker.

Agreed.... Byron, you old softie! Those Pros & Cons shows with Clapper were indeed a wonder to behold (even though they ended an unfortunate number of months before I was born). I would have done some mighty unpleasant things to have seen one in the flesh... in the buff, in the case of Ms Vanilla!
