I don't know other than you stick with something when it works... I think the music on that album is unbelievable!

he used the same melody because he wanted the same "feel" throughout the album..much like the same theme running throughout the wall album....if you take a harder listen to amused to death he used the same poetry based tricks on that album too. in poetry there are devises called assonance and alliteration..simply put they are repeating vowel and consonant sounds.....throughout pro's and con's waters used these devices when writing the lyrics.....the match of a blended melody carrying throughout fits well in my opinion, making the entire album "flow' thusly telling the story of a troubled relationship and the protagonist learning to love again.

It's hard to fill a whole album of music when you have not any new musical ideas since The Wall, you know.

ha actually had pros and cons and the wall at the same time. and he let them choose one, they chose the wall because they thought pros and cons was too personal. and the one they didn't choose was going to be a solo record.

Waters writes mostly concept albums (The Wall, Dark Side), or close to concept albums. They are supposed to have repetitive themes because they are telling a story, they are a sequence of events, s oit makes sense, the wall and dark side have alot of parts in more then one song, just listen and you will see.

NNJ-- You are quite obviously wrong. The Final Cut is characterised almost entirely by dick. Ergo, I contest that Roger can write dick. Not much else, though.

Indeed however, The Wall and DSotM simply don't beat their musical themes to death the way Pros and Cons does.

As evidenced in the songs Sea Shell and Stone, Chain of Life, and Breathe in Music from the Body.
