Most would like to associate our Boys in Pink with the natural & chemical wonders of this planet. I would have to say that it is all a matter of choice on who we listen to when we get stoned, or even if we do it at all. I have heard interviews from members of Floyd saying that it is rubbish to be stoned while listening to them. I think that it is all up to the individual.

Pink Floyd is the best, if not one of the best bands to listen to if you are stoned. If you get too stoned, lyrics don't even make sense, but the music is so much more groovy to listen to. If you drop any type of hallucinagenic drug (Acid, Mushrooms) you're in for a real treat. Don't get into the hard shit (Cocaine, Heroine). I would even draw the line before acid.

I have never been drunk or stoned either.

Pink Floyd (certain songs) does have a strong effect, though, sometimes. I feel as if, while listening, I am slipping off into another world. Mental images become very vivid--once, when I was very sick and very badly sleep-deprived I do remember seeing some very bizarre colours before my eyes during "Any Colour You Like". But I think that had very "natural" causes, so the Floyd does not deserve the blame for that one!

To certain music...I can close my eyes, and I can feel myself relax into a sleep-like, meditative, mesmerised state, where my mental images become very powerful and my thoughts are no longer so fraught with worry. And guess what? Pink Floyd is the only "drug" it takes!

Personally speaking the last thing I want to do when I am pissed out of my mind is listen to any form of music. It just makes the room spin faster LOL!!!!

As far as being stoned. PINK FLOYD IS MY FIRST CHOICE. To simplify the Floyd drug experience to the non users: Drugs basically distorts your perception of time, so the intro to "Shine On" seems about a half hour long. Everything (instruments voices etc.) becomes more dramatic or climatic. In order for you to understand you would have to take them to find out. It depends on the person as well. I am not here to promote drugs, but they do increase your admiration for good music.

Words haven't yet been invented to describe Floyd, nor the infinite heavens this music can take you to.

Herb can put me in another state of mind, giving me a completely different perspective on this one heaven that we call "reality." I reach these states of consciousness through many things, though (i.e. music), and the worst side effect of many drugs is that we lose sight of all the other various sources of inspiration that are available to us out there.

These etherial flowers Floyd bloomed for us with their music hold some incredible heavens, and no matter how you go about feeling it, don't forget to feel...

peace.

Hey, Wrightkeys, judging from your name, you will understand exactly what I mean by the following...you say that music just makes the room spin faster...well, there was a time when I had had some surgery, and I was given some very strong painkillers. I'd been listening to "Wet Dream" because I've noticed that album is a sort of MENTAL painkiller (as in it makes me stop worrying or dwelling on how bad things are)...and I got to "Mad Yannis Dance."

Well, those painkillers, by that point, had begun to make the room spin very badly, and I was lying down! And then..."Mad Yannis Dance" comes on.

And my God...that made the room spin so badly I cannot even describe it!

As if that song wasn't disorienting enough already (and I'd enjoyed it for that)...the painkillers just magnified it to an almost frightening level!

I haven't gotten high for quite a while, but if I were to pick up a joint, the first thing I would do after smoking is listen to Floyd. I really enjoy their music perfectly straight (actually, not really straight because, as mentioned before, the music is intoxicating all on its own), but boy would I be transported into a different realm when smoking in the dark, alone. It has been over six years since I have experienced this, and it really was magical.

when im stoned, and listen to pink floyd i seem to think more on the lyrics and get very hung up on them, to the point that it even influences me from a thought i had while stoned - once im not stoned, i still act on that thought. I think the song 'time' comes to mind, i overthinked that one and it got me a little sad. Breathe is one that i overthink on.

As for the music while stoned, it speaks for itself. shine on you crazy diamond while stoned is a must for all stoners.

i find the album 'meddle' is a good sleeping album, i.e. it makes me drowsy and go to sleep (yet its still an awesome album).

All in all, pink floyd + weed = goodness.
but pink floyd by itself is great too. Just with that added weed it makes you think the lyrics more i guess, and appreciate the musics a bit more too. sometimes. unless your too stoned and all you want to do is eat burger kings.
